Bad advice. That only works with New Game Plus. What if OP wants to aim for the S+ rank?
I died over 10 times at the villa on Pro, I got so frustrated I saved again right after it was over. I couldn't stand repeating this area over and over as it was literally giving me a migraine.
They throw the bella sisters fight right after this part so it's an insane drain on your resources and energy. This game on Pro is absolute b.s. without using cheats of some kind, in game or otherwise... it's just not a fun experience.
Honestly, you don't want to fight on the second floor as much as possible in the first half because it becomes too chaotic and you lose control and become less efficient with ammo/resources. You also cannot see when a board is dropped and ready to be grabbed / placed. I would honestly, if need be, ignore the resources on second floor if you can't grab them fast enough and only get them in phase 2 of the fight. The BAR /TMP is extremely powerful for this fight if you sold your pistol (which is a good idea, pistol is actually really bad but maybe not on your first run as you learn the game), but in truth a pistol is all you need here and you can clean up very easily. Red 9 tends to struggle a bit here, but if you upgrade ammo capacity I'm sure it can also get by fine. You get infinite pistol ammo here. Usually, I perch on the bottom stairs and avoid going up them that way I got good visual and don't get pincered.
In phase 2, immediately knock one of the ladders down (I always do the one in the tiny room outside, personally). Don't knock both down, though, cause if you do it too fast you can't win as nothing will spawn and it simply will not end. Stay near the one you need to knock down and reduce the overall flow. Once you see the bullmask cutscene abandon everything and rush to first floor. Throw a grenade, or at least a flash, and kill the bullman. Grenade is best for AoE on other mobs there and extra dmg on bullman. The knife has a massive dmg multiplier for special / boss stab prompts so it is worth stabbing. TMP does a great job of staggering these specials as the best gun for staggering in the game, though the BAR will do some pretty good dmg as well if you upgraded it as a priority and have enough ammo capacity to keep firing. As long as you kill the bullmask and grab them Emerald he drops the entire cabin siege will end in like 2-3 seconds.
If you can, it might be a good idea to have at least 1-2 capacity upgrades for the shotgun rather than dmg so it can fire multiple times as a backup weapon. That starting shotgun isn't very strong early on for actual dmg, however.
Overall, the Cabin and the double Garrador fights are what most people seem to have the biggest troubles with. Ironically, double Garrador fight has two ways to instantly win it without taking dmg in like 10-20 seconds once you figure out how to deal with special mobs and those ones in particular. One is heavy grenade (preferably, alternatively grenade/flash) when both on stairs and BAR to back = instantly killed or Riot Gun / TMP (less effective but still gets it done) and then shoot bell to lure the other. Alternative method is to simply use the bells from the start but not as clean and fast. In the Separate Ways DLC most people seem to struggle with Saddler (just rocket him anyways, literally no reason not to) and the ground burrowing boss (I can't explain this one, never seen any issues with it).
I suggest you look on YouTube for some Pro S+ speedruns to get an idea of how they tackle areas because it is nothing like you said.
The village fight? A single grenade will almost instantly end the fight if you group the mobs together. If you're lucky you might even find an extra grenade or flash bang allowing you to instantly end it or if you get the cow spot right. You get a good few healing items as well. Use the windows to control the enemy flow if you're struggling, though once you get used to it you wont need the windows as that will slow it down.
Bella sisters? You can grenade or flash bang them at spawn and immediately kill one with a Riot Gun or BAR. Rinse and repeat on the other, though if you can use multiple grenades in the process this is preferable as it dmg both sisters similar to duo Garrador boss which can be instantly beaten without dmg 100% of the time. If you really want to make it easy the Bella Sisters and the Village chief both have an explosive mine trick that lets you kill them in less than 3 seconds of the fight starting (maybe 5-6 for the chief as you have to shoot him like 2-3x to finish off last bit of health in 2nd phase but you will never take dmg doing it).
There aren't really any bs spots other than Del Lago, Krauser, and Ramon all of which warrant a save not because they're hard but RNG (and if you haven't practiced hitting Ramon with egg accurately).
You would be better off asking for advice here or checking YouTube, instead. One thing you do want to watch out is for variable FPS as this can cause inconsistent issues and bugs so lock your FPS.
cabin fight was like the hardest on hardcore in old res4 and new.
killing the Minotaur and picking up the gem immediately ends the fight, on my new game pro runs i sell all my RGY herb mixes to upgrade the TMP, by the time i get to the cabin i have an exclusive maxed TMP makes the fight wayyyyy easier
Oh yeah really good advice there autist... Here's your wall of texted summarized:
"Go look at professional speed runners that don't have a job and play video games 24/7 using extreme muscle memory to win the game"
People like you are all dumb and live in some kind of fantasy world... Jesus Christ it's sickening how dumb the human race is becoming. LOL
No one has time for that crap... also you're not even factoring in the time those guys spent trying to get those perfect runs... have you ever watched Bawkbasoup train for his speed runs? He legit spends like 3 or 4 days sitting at his computer for 16 hours failing over and over and restarting the game from scratch trying to perfect the run...
You're such a tool. For the average person, Pro mode is insane... and I'm not even that average of a gamer, I'm fairly above average and can pick up stuff very quickly and I still found it frustrating... I did it once and would never touch it again... that's how terrible it was.
A game shouldn't have to be played perfectly to be fun... also, even if you did try to play this game perfectly, some random garbage would most definitely happen to you and botch the entire thing... this game is ♥♥♥♥.
Who in their right mind just directly insults people for helping for absolutely no reason? Further, you shouldn't be using Autism as an insult because actual Autistic people can be competently capable despite their limitations, too.
FYI, Speedrunning for unlocks is a mainstay of the franchise and this franchise, unlike some, has almost always had very reasonably lenient speedrunning requirements for unlocks. As for watching professional speedrunners, I never said that. It can be pro or casual and either will be fine here. Botha re very practical. If it is a professional speedrunner while you might not do the pause unpause rifle pinpoint accuracy sniping you can still see the routes, how they progress, how they handle bosses or specific situations, how you can avoid wasting time with pointless engagements, and some have commentary explaining their tricks or various cheeses like how to instantly kill some bosses with the bolt thrower, etc.
You're making assumptions that unless you've no lifed and got epic twitch reflexes for the game their speedruns will not provide any valuable guidance. In fact, you really only need to skim the spots that give you particular troubles even, if you feel somewhat confident already. Just seeing those few spots that you might not be certain how best to approach can help immensely even if you didn't watch the other 95% of their video.
Pro mode is super easy, even for the average person. Once you have basic knowledge of the game (Pro can't even be played until beating the game at least once fyi) the most important factors are properly positioning and ammo economy / efficient tool for the job. Those are entirely knowledge issues and less skill issues. They can be taught and applied by a wide variety of skill levels. These are not twitch reflex based problems.
None of the bosses except the first El Gigante require proper engagement and can be instantly neutralized even by very low skilled players in mere seconds as long as they're given the correct advice and approach.
Enjoy my wall of text and grow up. I hope that one day you learn to speak properly with other human beings.
must have taken me 35 attempts in total, over the course of a week.. no other section in the game did i get so hard-stuck, that cabin fight is the hardest thing ever... safe to say i am garbage at the game but THERE IS LIGHT AT THE END OF THIS TUNNEL!!! I was able to complete the game on Hardcore and then again on Professional!!! so if my dumb special-needs @ss was able to do it, you can definitely get thru the game (assuming you havent already since this thread was from a month ago lololol)
I wish you were not wrong with your "it's rng" statement. The game is very consistent, so much in fact I would welcome an enemy randomizer.
LMAO. I did a whole playthrough with the infinite launcher. So fun one shotting everything including the bosses. Haha.
