M+K or Controller for RE4?
Title. The OG RE4 in the ps2 was with a controller and also for the pc version since with M+K it was unplayable. But for instance RE5 and RE7 was made for M+K so what is better for this version?

This game is better with keyboard and mouse. You want proper aim for all these weirdly moving ganados and especially for the target range.

I pity every single console player that wants to plat the game. Controller is absolutely awful here. That said. There will always be a couple of guys that hate themselfs saying " controller is fine ".. so try it out for yourself.

The RE Engine remakes play well on keyboard and mouse

I did the shooting range with KB/m just to plow through them quick, but everything else I prefer the controller like every other RE game.

Just play it the OG way , with controller , it'll be kinda easy for k+m

Anyone else feel like turning the camera witha a mouse feels more stuttery? It looks really bad for me. RE2 too. Is it because there's no mouse smoothing?

Both are viable.
Since it's a shooter (I mean you have guns), m&k are the most optimal.
Still, it does support dualsense so controller is doable too like PS2 but basically prompts are b&w which is imo better.

Not stuttery but it feels a bit off but it could be by design.
KB+M

After a little remapping I didn't have any issues with KB+M. Quick turn being "Q", parry being the spacebar and precise aiming all the time felt like a world of difference. Controller feels too sluggish imo, even though I preferred it in 2 and 3.

Movement feels ♥♥♥♥♥♥ on KB but aiming on mouse is a must to combat the rng.

I actually play with a controller. RE is one of the few games I like playing with a controller.
Both Mouse & Keyboard and Controller are fine.
I play with kb and mouse as the aiming on a controller is really terrible.

When it comes to the original. I'm ride or die for the controller. Especially the original gamecube controller. In the remake though, keyboard works fine.

Only kind of janky thing about keyboard is the break free of grapple QTE button mash. Works fine on the controller, but doesn't always register my button presses on my keyboard unless I changed it to hold in the settings. In return, keyboard and mouse tend to make the shooting range much easier imo.
