The fight against Saddler in professional is broken (Separate Ways)

Let's start with the perfect timing that he has when he knocks you to the ground with a blow, and he hits you again just as your character finishes the animation of getting up and you literally can't do anything. The commands still do not respond and it can hit you 3 times. More than enough to kill you. Wonderfull.

Although you can use the columns to create space between you and him, he passes through them with his tentacle attacks. Especially with the one who makes a combo.

Let's finish by mentioning the absurd amount of life it has. I arrived with all the weapons available to Ada with maximum damage except the crossbow, 3 frags, I have collected all the resources on the stage and still finished with just a few pistol bullets left.

Of course I like challenges and I assume it will be difficult at the highest level, but when the gameplay becomes unfair it ruins the fun. Let's remember that it is a triple A.

Saddler already felt very odd with the modifiers of Hardcore. Cannot imagine the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on Professional.

Tons of HP, small windows of crit damage, very very hard to stagger into knife animation (compared to other bosses in the DLC). It's almost like Ada was supposed to be equipped with a magnum because your DPS available is not quite up there. But i'm always open to be proved wrong because I struggled with some maingame bosses that in hindsight are very easy due to essential knowledge that were missed at first.

I am not a player with great skill, but I defended myself and I was doing the combat more efficiently with each attempt. Surely there are many better ways to confront him, but what worked for me is fight between the two columns near the altar. You can trigger him to attack and leave it behind using one of the columns and you go to the other. You are close enough to use the smg and the shotgun without barely missing. A few rifle shots to the head makes him show his weak point in his mouth, that's when you use the crossbow. His ranged attacks became easily avoidable, but when he managed to reach me with a tentacle the game was over with a 90% chance. I really wish I had bought the rocket launcher and not spent the money on upgrading the weapons, but I wanted to fight him.

I also discovered that his stinging tentacle attack can be parryable, but good luck with that. I only managed it a couple of times, most of the attempts were to die.

If it weren't for its unfair timing when you getting up and going through columns attacks I wouldn't complain at all.

Yes, if you try to fight Saddler legitimately on pro and you get stabbed once, you just get stabbed in the ass over and over again until you die.

He also takes quite the beating, I managed to survive long enough to be on my last clip on my pistol after emptying my grenades, TMP, Stingray and a good 40 rounds of Red9 ...

Next try I bought the RPG and from now on I will always do so, just like the Salazar fight in the Original RE4 ^^

Use a knife, I'm not joking. Ada V.S Saddler is easy af with a knife, so is Leon V.S Krauser. Besides, every time you shoot saddler he just gives the bullets back and it hurts a lot.

What if you are doing no merchant NG professional? Not trying to be a ♥♥♥♥ here, I am just dreading the time when I have to fight him in my current run of the type listed above. Anybody have any tips? Playing as Leon btw.

Professional in RE4R is a joke. It's cheap, which would be alright if Autosave was okay. However the lack of recovery is annoying. Getting hit, and stunned, then hit again without being able to recover. Its a common thing that can happen. There is a bit of luck involved. I highly recommend always having flash bangs in bossfights

Stock up/save Heavy Grenade for the fight is the only thing I can think of that could help.

That run you plan to do sounds absolutely impossible due to how much HP you'll have to grind down with limited resources unless you have the Cat Ears on then it is just a battle of attrition.

I played my first play-through on hardcore because I always love a good challenge. A FAIR challenge. I must've fought Saddler over a dozen times and been stuck for an hour. I didn't want to feel like I was cheating, but I finally threw my hands in the air and bought the rocket launcher. I feel better knowing that other people feel like this was a cheap, unfair boss. lol

That said, I assumed he was right at the end and I didn't really pay attention to what I was selling in order to buy the rocket launcher. I sold my Red 9 and rifle. That made the ending stretch much harder than it should've been. LOL! So maybe I didn't cheat since I made the ending way harder than intended.
