Primal Knife should be indestructible by default
What is the purpose from getting all Clockworks Castellans and the reward is a knife where you must upgrade everything before to be indestructible?
I mean is not a bad idea for a NG+ but is nonsense for the new game run due the high cost. Even being a optional and bonus content is some useless on half game before you can do the exclusive upgrade. Using silver ticket don't look a great deal and the golden ticket is a weird P2W way to get.
Don't feel a useful reward in general.

It is indestructible. Did you enter the promo code? You need a smartphone, your ID, your employee ID, and your passport. If you don't have all four, you need to get all four.

I like having unlockable weapons that don't feel too much like cheats for a normal playthrough.

Id buy the skull shaker dlc if it was made available at the merchant instead of auto-dumped in the typewriter.

Stop ordering the weapon around. If it doesn't want to be indestructible until it trusts you then it won't be.

Primal Knife being indestructible by default could be a easier way to players finish the game on harder difficulties instead the silver tickets on merchant along no needing repair the knife on every merchant spot is welcome (will have more pesetas for other weapons too). On RE2 the infinite knife was a good extra on game due the game feel more balanced.
Silver tickets for exclusive upgrades at any time feel so broken and unbalanced even in assisted/standard difficulties.

I never liked DLC weapons on games because can ruin the core experience so in your second run must be interesting but not for a first blind run. Anyway I agree about make these DLC weapons as bonus items in merchant.

It might as well be a NG+ weapon. If you want it indestructible ASAP just save a ticket for it.

I upgraded it all the way on a fresh professional run along with my handgun and sniper rifle, the game gives you so many ways to earn money easily I don’t see how you cannot get infinite durability by the time the castle rolls around

My point is why not indestructible from the begin? No reason to search for hidden items on entire game for a secondary knife as reward. Unlike Chicago Sweeper/handcannon where can get infinite ammo and turn the game very easy to finish, the knife still needing to use in correct moments and don't turn the game easier without experience.

The village part is the most difficult on professional for players that want a challenge but not so brutal experience. A defensive item envolving basic mechanics on start could be less frustrating for many players.

Anyway people can get the golden ticket paying or use mods to unlock the indestructive feature. I know this is maybe a unnecessary discussion but I think about fair rewards for gameplay like in old games.

The rewards in this game are pretty damn fair.

Wait the tickets are carried on to new playthrough? Without NG+?

NG+ is so lame. It's like the first run doesn't even matter.

"YOU KNOW ALL OF THAT STUFF THAT YOU JUST DID? WELL, THE GAME IS RESET NOW!! HOWEVER, THIS TIME, YOU HAVE INFINITE AMMO!!!! INFINITE AMMO!!!!! INFINITE AMMMOOOOO!!!!!" :steammocking:

The only attractive on primal knife is to be indestructible but still need a cost on gameplay peseta amount. Weapons like Chicago and Handcannon you get for free on first typewriter and already come with extra ammo to better survive on harder difficulties.

No. Silver tickets are just for that save slot progress. The only way to get tickets for free in any new game is paying for the DLC.

What are you on about? Come with extra ammo to better survive on harder difficulties? What extra ammo? The one full unupgraded mag you get with the sweeper and a full unupgraded cylinder on the magnum?

Well you get a fully charged knife extra knife for free on the first typewriter So it pretty much has just as much extra as the other two. It's also a more damaging and more durable knife than the base combat knife even if we don't include the infinite durability upgrade.

Or by extra do you mean that you keep getting new ammunition for those weapons? Those aren't extra. They are just in the same loot pool as everything else just as the money to repair those knives is in the same pool.

As much as I can be a douche I really am not trying to be here. I just do not understand your logic on how the knife is any different than those two weapons, because by your logic as far as I understand it, the knife functions rather similarly than the extra guns.

If anything the extra knife helps plenty early on because you can just use up your combat knife durability, which saves primal knife durability and then you can sell the combat knife which gives you a little bit of extra cash for those early weapon upgrades.

Don't care about durability, save some lot pesetas not repairing the knife on every merchant spot and can give more defense using parry mechanics instead a permanent buff defense like chicken hat. These are my point.
If the primal knife comes with a low damage by default and not being possible do upgrades could be a better deal due you will be choice between defensive knife or a use the basic one to keep doing a bit more damage on enemies.

Wait so now your problem is that Primal knife should be worse?
Soren May 31, 2023 @ 3:21am
The knife is a lot stronger in this game. Tried a knife only run before I got bored with it. Used the primal knife since you can unlock infinite durability by early chapter 4.

El Gigante and Menedez's first form are jokes compared to Leon just constantly backstabbing them while they can't fight back. They just completely fail at hitting targets behind them and their turning leaves much to be desired.
