Whats considered a "bonus" weapon for the challenges?

is it just the ones you unlock in the extras menu, or do the deluxe dlc items count too?

It's not a bonus weapon because it doesn't require you to spend CP to unlock it. There. Solved.

The infinite rocket launcher is not considered a bonus weapon, but it doesn't matter because to get the Handcannon you must play a brand new game on professional, therefore you wouldn't have access to the infinite launcher.

Nah there's a mod to unlock it on NG, and it doesn't void the Handcannon challenge.

I have finished the game using the inf rocket launcher, NG+, with S rank. Didn't use Primal Knife and Crossbow. I also didn't have Chicago and Handcannon at the time. At the end of the game they gave me only Chicago, not Handcannon

It is impossible to get a S+ rank in a NG+ run. The instructions state when you finish the game that S+ can only be achieved in fresh NG runs. Plus you can't use bonus weapons. Thus even though the infinite rocket launcher is not a bonus weapon it is only a NG+ weapon and thus invalid for Handcannon which requires a NG.

You can use all bonus weapons in a NG (not NG+) to get any unlock. The exception is Handcannon will be voided if you shoot a bonus weapon or use the primal knife. Only the handcannon. The rest are fine.
