Its specialty is useless compared to other handguns though. Doing something different doesn't automatically make it good or needed.
I played a bit on pro and didn't see much of a difference, but I plan to actually do a full playthrough and check the specific details on how things work soon. So far though, not impressed sadly.
Re4make, SG09R takes 304k to all max + exclusive, while Punisher only takes 279k. That being said, SG09R is still not too shabby because its still #2 spot on budget pistol. #3 is taken by Sentinel Nine at 321k.
The ones without laser sights aren't bad at all. That said, the Punisher is also incredibly good, potentially the best handgun in the game. Anyone claiming it's bad are just plainly wrong.
You can wreck anything in this game with any weapon. It's just that the Punisher comes up massively short compared to other weapons. It sucks in comparison to other handguns. It doesn't suck as a standalone weapon when not comparing it to the others.
Also, the reticle thing is preference. The bloom doesn't really make shots that much more inaccurate, just less obvious where to aim without memorizing where the shot would normally go. I can hit constant headshots with reticle bloom at a good range. The advantage of the reticle is that you will always know precisely where your general aim is at, while you can get somewhat lost with the laser sight. The laser sight's advantage however is that there is no bloom, so if you are aiming at an enemy, you know with 100% certainty where the shot will go without memorization. Me personally? I prefer the reticle, but I like both.
And hey, if you like the Punisher and it fits what you want to do, go for it. Glad someone enjoys it at least.
I used the punisher to get through professional mode, op has no idea how good this handgun is.
