why so many negative reviews on metacritic?

I just finished the game. Much better than the original, they undoubtedly learned from the mistake that was the re3 remake. But why are they bombing the game on metacritic?

Random people on the internet get hung on small things, are disappointed when games don't live up to weird expectations they have in their head, or just don't like the game for whatever reason and will review bomb good games just because they don't want it to do well. You don't really need to look any further than this discussion board to see random internet people have some giga whack takes.

The game is objectively well made, you can't really argue against that. That said it still won't be universally liked by everyone, nor should it be.
