Boss Fight in Sewer [BUG ?]

I'm really worried that I've corrupted my save.
In chapter 10, when I enter the sewers and I have to activate the levers to lift the doors and reactivate the energy, the Verdugo's first attack happens, with his tail, after that, the door that should be open, is closed.
Do I need to do anything else or does my game have a bug?

It's hard to understand exactly what you're describing, but if you're saying in the first room when you turn on the power the door is locked, you're meant to be stuck in that room with the Verdugo for a while before you can escape.

I'm not sure how long it is because I just used the rocket at that point to delete him.

did you already use nitrogen pipes to freeze verdugo and then shoot verdugo repeatedly until verdugo retreat ?

Fight the Verdugo, as the above post states, like the original, use the nitrogen to freeze and damage him, eventually the doors will open.

My problem is that I can't use the liquid nitrogen anymore after the elevator arrives. Is that supposed to happen? Also he tanks everything on hardcore. Just doesn't die. I literally bought a Striker and tuned it up just for him, despite me not liking that weapon.

You can also just use the shower in that room.. run to the door asap and escape. The freeze effect gives you enough time to open it.

Just like in the original there is a work-around if you struggle with beating a boss: make sure you can buy a one-use rocket-launcher (160 k). One-hits most bosses.

Right before the Verdugo-fight you should have collected some treasures that sell for about 100k if filled with the right gemstones. If not, try selling weapons you don't use anymore.

As for regular guns, you'd want a Magnum for him - works best on him if you keep landing headshots.
Striker should work too but you need to keep hitting the head. The main body of Verdugo has high defense.

While you can also just buy the rocket launcher.. I wouldnt recommend it. It's easy enough to kite him in the room with the loop around that machine thingy the middle of the room. He can't do anything if you loop around him there.

The elevator is coming down slowly, you have to wait it out with the monster by running from it until elevator arrives

I always killed him in the original. Never ran from him. Unfortunately I have a bad save on hardcore with not many health items. I can sell my nearly maxed Skull Shaker for 142000 and buy the rocket launcher but I rather not do that. I'll keep trying.

Yeah it's more of a body shot weapon. I reloaded a previous save and bought Riot Gun instead for the tighter spread. Striker didn't seem to work very well. You need to shoot at point blank with it and Verdugo will claw you even when frozen.

But man, he's much beefier here. I kind of like it though.

He was pretty tanky in the original too, especially on professional difficulty. I usually saved up all magnum-ammo and used Broken Butterfly on him on the initial run. When landing headshots consistently, that usually takes him down in a couple reloads.

Done it. SR M1903, Riot Gun and Broken Butterfly mostly. I was just too fixated on freezing him. You just have to go full Rambo and unload into him.

Which is why you freeze him in the first place, as the game wants you to shoot Verdugo's head. Freezing him makes this a lot easier to do...

Most people prepared Broken Butterfly spec with exclusive ticket solely for this boss. You need 158k pesetas to buy all firepower upgrade, and then 30 spinels for the ticket.
I didn't prepare the gun so I did the same as you. Go rambo and dump in every shotgun shells, rifle ammo, then mag dump it with Matilda until its dead.

The guy can take a lot of dmg before dying. I will recomend like some others said, broken butterfly or maxed dmg of Riot Gun shotgun. It will take some time to kill him like two reloads on both weapons shooting at head on hardcore mode.

You don't have to kill him or shoot him, just make sure you first run to one of those freezer thingy, then freeze him once, then you run away to another freezer thingy, and freeze him twice, make sure you delay this as much as possible, then you can just run around in circles, and eventually use a flash grenade if needed, and then run to the elveator ASAP.
