lack of hit stun ruins this game.
shooting somebody in the head should auto stun them, me needing to shoot 2-3 bullets just to stun an enemy is bs. same with snipers not one shotting to the head. like what mouth breather thought making a fully upgraded sniper not be able to one shot a basic grunt in the head was a good idea.

Reading through the threads, looks like everyone and their mother are better game designers than Capcom. Interesting...

I mean sure, comparing to the original I think this remake is more difficult but still doable, you just need to learn a new mechanic and strats. I beat this game on my first attempt on hardcore with no damage. Gonna try professional difficulty with no damage next.

Theres a mod that gives one shot headshot staggers now, just use that if you want to trivialize the game.

Not sure what you mean. I am on Professional and enemies for sure get stunned. Maybe not on one bullet, but that's part of the difficulty. Hate to say it, but just get better. Shoot the head and legs only.

If you're using the starter gun or Sentinel gun with exclusive upgrade you should have no problem stunning or popping heads in one or two shots.

Increased crit chance leads to increased stun chance too?

there is a mod just released like 10 hours ago on nexus that staggers enemy on headshots.

The issue with that mod is that it staggers EVERY enemy in a single headshot. Even plagas

good luck considering how cheap the difficulty is especially with them spawning/teleporting enemies directly behind you half the time

People are quick to mention omni-directional movement as a fair trade off for random stagger, but don't also factor in all the ganado buffs, Leon nerfs and weapon nerfs. Yeah, things needed changing, but they went overboard with the enfeeblement of Leon and his arsenal. I mean FFS, even hand grenades do random ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ damage!

Excellent point that people just usually omit. Ganados are WAY more dangerous and the lack of headshot consistency along with Leon not having iframes except for a very small selection of animations (kick for example) makes a lot of the game seem unfair. Hardcore and Professional mode are clearly unbalanced, and having these consistency issues along with how the game restricts you in professional (no checkpoints + perfect parry only) makes it challenging in an unfair and very unfun way. The remake was never designed to be played like this and I doubt they playtested these difficulties enough, while the original's Professional was pretty fair and fun to play.

Tell me, do you think it's fun or fair to be true comboed by ganados while trying to jump a window or jumping down a ladder or any of these actions? You can be damage while on RECOVERY animations, how tf is that supposed to be fair?

Also, forgot to mention about how they straight up ripped the crosshair focusing mechanic from RE2 REMAKE, a game that doesn't have a FOURTH of the action this new one has and just glued to it. Yeah, of course, some weapons do have a laser sight, but considering how inconsistent some of the weapons are to hit and how precise some of the enemy hitboxes are (especially on island with armored enemies) you'll be missing a lot of shots, and while this might not be a problem for someone playing on standard, on professional it will absolutely make a difference.

Use extra shop stuff

I know it defeat the purpose of playing games but whatever. Bragging on forum is much more important for minority of people anyway.

i was just playing, i get surrounded by enemies so i drop down and while in the 5 year animation that it takes to drop down it get hit then hit again cause i'm stunlocked. this game is the definition of cheap unfair trash. rarely do i ever get it and i feel like it's my fault. it's poorly designed and the controls are beyond sluggish and more clunky than a game from 2005 with tank controls it's actually mind boggling how they messed up so bad.

the fact that it takes 2-3 headshots to stun a enemy is just stupid. and exactly that's what capcom does, they constantly cut corners and re-use models and assets instead of actually developing new mechanics for a new game. The RE2 style gameplay does not fit in at all with the RE4 gameplay it just makes the game feel sluggish and clunky, it worked fine in RE2 cause it was designed around that specific game. I cannot believe how many shills and NPCs are giving this game a 10/10 and saying it's better than the original. it's like a 7.5/10 maybe an 8/10 at best.
