Git gud
The maxed out Springfield does 31.2 damage when shooting at weak points.
How is it a skill issue if, with a maxed out SG09R with a laser sight, ganados can still take 2 - 4 head shots to stagger, sometimes never staggering at all ? Forget leg shots, that was taking 4 at minimum, sort of defeats the whole saving ammo purpose of melee.
You are ridiculously vulnerable in this game. Anything that has even slight recovery, where the player temporarily has absolutely no control , the enemies have a huge tendency to instantly grapple you. Honestly I expected to see so much rage about this ♥♥♥♥ but no one talks about it. When did this become acceptable? Stunlocking a player is a huge design failure.
Using the knife to stab them in the face/eyes is a 1-hit stun (specifically the stab when aiming the knife, not the basic slash)
Head-shots are a slightly random effect, sometimes one shot will stun, sometimes it won't. Not sure if this has to do with whether an enemy is specified as a mutating parasyte host or not.
It's best to shoot a leg twice to stun, imo.
Same leg, twice is a guaranteed stun. This can be more tricky in the castle as the enemies have robes that cover their legs, and may cause you to miss.
What difficulty are you playing on exactly?
My base stat sniper rifle (never put a single upgrade into the first rifle) can one-shot enemies and pop heads all day on standard difficulty until you get to the island, where enemy health is increased beyond the original power stat's capability and needs a bit of an upgrade to power to handle it.
Doing a suplex is achieved by random chance. Every now and then, a stun will spin the enemy around and put them on their knees, this is the only animation you can perform a suplex with, (as far as I can tell)
tl;dr Remake is a great game until standart. At hardcore+ it becomes frustrating due to the damage model.
Then the handgun unlocked it's exclusive and suddenly has around 9+ firepower instead of the Red9 who would have to wait several chapters later just to get a weak 6.5 fire power. Crits are serious business in the original.
You didn't used to be able to parry, now you can. If they're swinging at you, just block it. We're only talking hardcore here, not even professional where you are ALWAYS required to perfect parry. In my professional run, I've only died a couple times to the same Garrador trying to knife him to death for the achieve. So either I'm incredibly lucky, or I'm just not relying on a stun? Having a reliable stun + parries would make the game waaay too easy.
