Never played a RE game
I've never played a RE game and I don't know if this one is a good one to start with or should I start with one of the others on steam?

MAn you are lucky, wish i could experience this for the first time.

And if i could, i would start from RE1 remake and go from there,as they are all remarkable remakes. So if you can wait, hold off on this and do the remakes of 1 and 2, 3 wasnt great but if u want the story ofc u kidna have to try it, then u do this one as its set after the second game and makes more sense who Leon even is.

But hey, all of them are great games, but doing them in order is a treat

I would start with RE2 remake, then RE3 remake, then RE4 remake, RE5, RE7, RE8.

For Leon story, personally, I would recommended RE2 Remake just because it is mentioned by Leon at the start of RE4 Remake. Also there was another one about Leon and Krauser fighting Wesker in Latin America but only in PS Console.

Skip the FIRST game? Why? the remake is amazing and it sets everything up

And yes ofc he should keep going after 4

I will say....5 and 6 are not great games...nor are they remade so they look kinda trashy, 7 and 8 are great imo, well 8 was weird and poorly paced but 7 i belive was amazing.

I would probably start with the original remaster if you can stomach the weird controls. If not, get RE2 Remake. It's probably one of the best games ever made alongside RE4 original/remake.

Because the first game wont match any other game in the series, it's a completely different style compared to what we have now. Fixed camera angles, hardly any inventory space, etc.

It would be a bit jarring to go from RE1 to RE2 remake.
I personally love the RE games, but couldn't bring myself to play through RE1 remastered. It's just not my kind of game.

Hey other Elden and thanks for info on Resident Evil Village. Wasn’t sure if that was worth playing.
It def is worth playing, with third person mode it has a feel quite similar to RE4 (plus it has one great horror section in the main game and one in the DLC, really putting the horror back in survival horror lol)

For OP, just start with REmake 1, it's not like the newer remakes (less action-y with fixed camera angles as opposed to more action with over-the-shoulder shooting) but it holds up well and it's pretty short either way. Then go REmakes 2,3 and 4, after that 7 and 8. 5 and 6 you could also play if you really want to, 5 is alright but 6 is pretty poorly regarded.
Maybe watch gameplay of REmake 1 first though and if the more dated gameplay really puts you off start with REmake 2.

- learn discover mess up info, investagtion team check in place
- special virus zombie like bs as in short 1st bio weapon shown
- ur team slowly dies here and there
- sum ur team lived
- traitor among ur team
- kill crazy ass monster

Wow thank you all for your responses! I'm excited to start into this trilogy haha. Debating between starting RE1 and RE2!

Most RE fans started with 4, so go for it! It's not really connected to the other ones and the intro is a recap of 2.

I'd say if you're a newcomer, start with the RE2 Remake. RE1 is very different and might be a bit too difficult to get into. It's from 2002.

Yeah but that was when the first 3 were old af PS1 games and 4 just came out new and shiny for the at the time current gen (plus the fact that it basically was revolutionary at the time). The remakes at least from a technical standpoint are all roughly on par with each other from 2 onward, plus the old ones are way cheaper
