Hold in the block button, wait for their strike, and you will see what timing is needed to parry.
Yeah I've done that. Not clear enough for my tastes. I'm talking about something more granular. Visual cues, audio cues, setups for the parries the good stuff.
Right? I'm doing my NG+ playthrough right now ( chapter 11 :) ) as practice for the fresh start professional run I want to do in the future but I'm gonna be honest. I don't think I can survive it without the Primal Knife. That being said, I need to get these timings down for these attacks in particular and I thought might as well try to create a bit of a knowledge thread if anyone has found some decent repeatable tricks to it that isn't just " Go into a lower difficulty and stand there with the knife up "
NOTHING wrong with that just so I'm clear! I just learn better if there's a cadence I can find in the animations to hit the parries with. It's how I found all the ones I can hit consistently now XD
But yeah. Very exited to improve at the game. I'm really glad Capcom didn't ♥♥♥♥♥ out on these difficulty options. Feeling like you have stuff to improve on is one of the things that make the original RE4 so great.
I've got the parries down for ranged weapons, Krauser's first fight ( not looking forward to the runback ) the torch feels a little finnicky to me idk why it just seems inconsistent, and punches are finally falling into place. I'm sure I'm forgetting weapons but the point is the others I've listed seem to be catching EVERYBODY from my perusal of footage on youtube and the like.
I could be wrong but I think it's a bit inconsistent for the timing. I've noticed with the flail or other similar attacks such as the garrador it flashes yellow, I'm trying to figure out if that's because it's a signal for the timing or just because it's out of your line of sight.
