It's not that the treasures are well-hidden, it's more so that you will miss some of them unless you throw yourself at every single wall and crevice like a bug tester. There's too many of them so you'll end up walking by some, even if they're in plain sight
I have never problem with money to buy them, but they are not mandatory for shure.
Also they show diffirent treasures from dlc map.
People said to stock up on spinels for exclusive ticket, but I think its not worth it unless you are using it on magnum. Each spinel can be trade into no-limit-trade 2500 pesetas treasure once you are on island.
