Scratched emerald?
Anyone know if there's anything special about the scratched emerald? It has the exact same sell value as other emeralds.

You can actually sell it before you get the request to preemptively complete it.

yea, I ended up doing this as it was marked as a quest item even if I didn't have the quest.
