This is kinda interesting. Does anyone find the aim assist actually good? I don't. (I can see it useful in some sections like mine cart but)
gas mask - Complete the main story on Professional mode. costs 2000CP
chicken hat - Complete the main story on Hardcore mode with an S+ rank. costs 2500CP
deer antlers - Complete the main story on Standard mode with an S+ rank. 2000CP
cat ears - Complete the game on Professional Mode with an S+ Rank 3000CP
You do NOT NEED S+ on PROFESSIONAL. That is a widespread misconception. That is only required for the cat ears, which are pretty useless once the game has been 100% completed. If you pay closer attention, you'll see that there is an achievement for gaining S+ on HARDCORE, NOT PROFESSIONAL, and separately, there is the all-weapons achievement which requires bonus weapons including the handcanon, but that doesn't require S+, it only requires beating Pro on a new game (no NG+) without using any bonus weapons.
TL;DR: For achievements you only need to S+ hardcore and then beat pro on a new game without bonus weapons.
Don't like it much. For some reason, it always auto-aims at a spot to the upper right of the ganados as if wanting to shoot weapons out of their hands regardless of whether they actually hold one up or not. Also makes it nearly impossible to shoot oil lamps or similar objects on time to deal damage to enemies.
Even in the mine cart section, yes, it could be seen as helpful, but switching to mouse/keyboard for that part is more helpful.
So on topic, how much damage reduction does the chicken hat actually do? Percentage or something. Just unlocked it and tried it out on the first enemy on Pro and ... just from grabbing me, it almost killed me, even though I escaped the grab with the knife. So I didn't see much damage reduction there.
Making a hat that reduces the damage (thus making the game easier) in the form of a chicken's head is pretty clever visual comedy.
