Also ignore the first reply here from Faded. They don't know what they're talking about. For some reason they think you're talking about the "Insect Hive" blue note request, which has nothing to do with what you're talking about.
When you see one of the sleeping ones, kill him with one shot without him waking up and tell me it didn't count.
What now?
Also, it is a FACT that this challenge can be bugged. If you read above, I experienced it myself. So are you accusing me of lying? Because that's the only other alternative.
One can always create bugs with any software of course
So for example, when I shoot a still camoed Novi with the Riot Gun, it dies in one shot, so you would think it should count right? Wrong. It comes out of camo during its death animation and that is what the game sees. When I throw a small grenade at a camoed Novi, it dies still in camo mode and my counter goes up. REALLY stupid, and probably still a "bug" in the oversight sense. But at least there is a way to actually ensure you get it right by figuring out which kill animations count.
Out of every novistador I've fought, the game had only counted 1 towards that challenge and I have no idea which one it was.
I haven't tested this, but I agree with some folks on Reddit who are saying that there is a secret distance requirement. Basically, the idea is that once you get a little too close, the argument is that the Novi is aware you are there and is just staying hidden to try and ambush you, so the game doesn't count it. You don't have to be REALLY far, just like, a ways back, enough that most of the time a shotgun isn't really the right answer versus say, the rifles.
However, it is absolutely necessary to one-shot it. After trying to kill some with the sub machine gun where it did not get count, I switched to the sniper rifle - There I had zero issues with getting the 5 kills. Maybe with magnum it is bugged?
