Any idea if the game still uses an adaptive difficulty like the original? Sure feels like it sometimes.
Example:
The better you do, the more accurate your shots= Harder Enemies
If you are getting your @$$ kicked = Easier Enemies
Also keep in mind that the game generally gets easier as you go along because your weapons become more and more powerful while the enemies stay about the same.
With all the complaining about Hardcore mode I was dreading certain sequences like the Water Room. Turns out it's even easier in this version than the original.
Get the Bolt Thrower, upgrade it and use it in every single encounter you can. It staggers better than a pistol I can promise you that, and I've used it against the bullhead guys.
