this is why I hate lock off settings. Unless its a looter game, they should let you play at the hardest when ever you want. Its a dumb thing to do. Just let people challenge them selves lmao.
Most games I will literally download mods to make it like 2x harder at least. Witcher 3 I gave my self 50% reduction in damage, boosted enemy damage by 50% and made it so the economy is pretty hard too.
Kingdom come, I play on hardcore with all debuffs enabled, along side thigns to make economy harder EXP rates slowed by 70 or 80%, no slow motion on things so all real time. ect.
At least hardcore is harder than in the OG game but still wish it would be harder LOL
I play at hardest settings to engage my brain more, other wise I play on auto pilot and get bored, im playing to not be bored and escape my thoughts.
Hardcore at least is engaging enough, I do have to focus since you die so fast but idk wish I could play on professional.
Game gets easier as you get lower hp, so its more of a risk reward thing. easier time but if youre not paying attention you die in one hit
In the original:
- You stunlock Krauser and knife him to death
- You bust the Regenerator's knee then knife it to death, because you stunlock him
- Salazar you take out with the same rocket launcher you get for free at the castle.
- Rocket launcher can be bought extremely cheap
- You can stagger EVERYONE with 1 shot and the kick has insane range making it ridiculously easy for crowdcontrol
- Bellar Sisters, Salvadator are sent flying with 1 shotgun blast leaving them free for you to knife them before you blast them again.
- For the Verdugo fight you can just buy a rocket launcher cheap and blast him.
Yea, the original is "so much harder" lol.
This version of Hardcore for Resident Evil 4 Remake however is nowhere near as difficult when compared to Resident Evil 2 Remake, and this is because you didn't have the ability to Parry Knife along with the significantly greater freedom of movement abilities that Leon now has in RE4R compared to RE2R Leon.
Another factor to me is also the ink ribbons limitations in RE2R on hardcore made is so that you had to save strategically, where as here you can save infinitely, and also ammo felt far more limited in RE2R, but this also had a lot to do with the fact that headshots within RE2R were really random (they purposely did this) which resulted in some zombies literally taking over a dozen shots to die even when hit at the head.
Lastly, the vulnerability of RE2R vs RE4R is huge, and again, this has a lot to do with how well you can move in RE4R, just think that now we can stealth kill, we can also parry throw items, attacks, and even a chainsaw which completely changes the scenario and makeup of the game.
If the zombies were made to be even more dynamic (like say running much faster, able to fake lunge, or dodging more frequently) to go on top of these defensive options that Leon now has in RE4R would have given the game far more spice.
However again, I'm only at the Castle and I'm not done yet on Hardcore, however it definitely was not as intimidating as RE2R in which case the first time running that game truly made me feel like I was helpless.
Should be made into a God of War franchise character at this rate.
Hello Cypralax,
I'm like you, I find that most games are not very difficult, and I'm afraid RE4's Hardcore mode is a bit too easy for my taste.
I would like to start my 1st run in professional difficulty. Can you share your save game so I can have the professional difficulty unlock ?
