I am, havent found a solution yet either
That can usually be down to audio bitrate you've set your headphones to. Normally if you have it set to 48 kHz you'll be alright. Cyberpunk 2077 has a similar issue.

hmm, my bitrate is at 48 khz and my audio drivers are up to date already. This is the only game to my knowledge that gets crackling sounds so I'm not sure what else I can do.

Sample rate is what is meant. Bitrate means something else, rate of data. Sample rate = how many samples per second of digital audio.

Make sure windows device sample rate is 48kHz, but also disable all "Audio Enhancements" in Windows Sound device config.

YO I'm getting the same issues I thought it was just me. I went to Best buy to get it checked out and it is still making the same noises but it is only on some steam games.

Hi everyone, I have the same problem. Right from the start of the game, when the Police car is running on the forest road, from external view, there's sizzling and crackling sounds. Also when Leon is badly hurt.

Well looking back at this now, its not so much an audio cracking sound. It's more like audio skipping. Again, only game I have that does this.

Are you using Bluetooth headset? If the game is locked to 48kHz and heasmdset stuck at 44.1kHz that might be the issue.

Also, I had an issue the other day with JBL Bluetooth speaker using 2.4Ghz wifi, similar to what you described. Switching to 5Ghz access point resolved the issue.

Everything plugged into my PC is wired.

Interesting. I see you've set sample rate on sound card to 48kHz. Did you also disable all enhancements?

yes, all enhancements were already disabled. The stuttering wasn't too bad but noticeable. I remember having a similar problem with an old PS3 where both the audio and video in games would stutter badly and that turned out to be a bad hard drive. However this PC is maybe 10 months old and pretty decent specs with 2 new SSDs configured in RAID 0, I can't imagine that being the issue here.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

The odd thing is the problem is only happening in one game for you.

Why use RAID 0 on SSDs? Diminishing returns when it comes to performances and heightened risk of failure. Install game on a spare HDD and see what happens.

RAID 0 or RAID 1 I forget which is which. It is whatever one that basically turned my two 2TB drives into a single 4TB drive. The stuttering isn't too bad so if I am the odd one out here I am not going to bother getting new hardware to fix the issue.
