Why are people saying the Red9 is bad?
In the original game the Red9 with stock was my favourite weapon. But I've heard most people say it's bad in this game? Why? Is it the how much room it takes up? Fully upgraded it does 2.7 damage which is a lot higher than my sentinel nines 1.9 it does have less reload, rate of fire and precision at least without the stock. And I guess it can't use the laser sight.

Are those the reasons and that it takes up more space in inventory? Or is there something else I don't know about too?

I think its because of how annoyingly tedious it is to use right off the bat upon purchase. I remember buying it and being so sick of it because of how slow the reload and fire rate was and was busy spending pesetas on other things. But I eventually gave it a second shot and actually upgraded it and it proved to be the most viable weapon I had

The space, the lack of perforation, rate of fire kills it for me.

It's powerful and fun to use, but not as useful as the other handguns in my opinion.

I'm a 'one well-placed bullet' rather than 'spray-and-pray' kind of guy. So despite it's tricky to use, it is my favorite pistol here and in the classic RE4. Once you got the hang of it, you're untouchable.

The only downside is that you have to be very careful not to get mobbed. Always carry a good crowd control backup.

You can get the Red 9 in chapter 4 once you have the boat, it is smack dab in the middle of the lake.

That being said the main reason is that it is not compatible with the laser dot in this version so especially without the stock it is very inaccurate.

So am I, nothing more rewarding than a single well placed bullet hitting a weakspot after going through two other people ;)

My handgun is my "distant" crowd control gun, the shotgun being the close quarters one.
Depends on your playstyle. Want a shorter range handgun that does more damage per bullet if you're good at aiming? Can't beat the Red9. I had no problems with its accuracy and it fits my playstyle.

Are you talking about buying it in RE4 Remake I found it? If you miss it you can buy it? Or are you referring to the first game.

I find the the Red9(even with stock) to be horribly inaccurate to the point where I am leaving alot of damage on the table by not using a gun that is more accurate at longer range.

I think it's the most accurate handgun though? Unless your talking about dot sight?

The laser sight basically makes any pistol it can attach to automatically more accurate than any of the "crosshair" choices, since the laser is perfectly accurate as soon as you start aiming

Right so without the laser sight the Red9 with stock is quite good. But laser sight is more accurate. That's kind of how I see it too.

Literal crackheads. Red9 is solid.

The Red9 has high base damage yes but as with most things, especially in this, weak points will always be your best possible bet for winning quickly. So take the Sentinel Nine for instance which is what I use... 31 rounds with 5x damage on crit's
1.9 x 5 compared to a flat 2.7

Personally I used the Red9 until I maxed out the Sentinel Nine and then I never touched the Red9 again because the Red9 shined in situations where you just sprayed and prayed and due to its high base damage a hit to the arm was still strong. But for accurate actual gunplay a crit gun is leagues better. Assuming you're on the baseline Standard difficulty I can 1 shot like... 50% of the enemies and stun the special ones in like 1-2 shots to the head.

The problem is that it's not really good until is close to max. I don't think it's needed really. My favorite is the Punisher. On chapter 12 and still using it. It's my fav, especially against shielded enemies or those damn infestors that take over enemies.

It's trash without a laser sight though.
