how many puzzles are there in this game? is this game different from the other resident evils? i didn't like the previous ones because they had too many puzzles, and that is not what i am looking for in a game.

Then don't play it, plain and simple :)
Play something else. There's lots of games for every taste out there.

No, it’s not puzzle heavy like the last few games. There’s maybe two that involve moving some marbles or colors, and one where you read some text and then use the keywords to unlock a door. The other two just require you to look for paint on a cave wall Otherwise its mostly fetch quests.

i am on chapter 6, and only had to do 5 mandatory puzzles, of the 5, two were back to back, and the other two were just looking at walls to see the symbol.

^ Im on Chapter 7 and have only done like 6 puzzles I think, even if you struggle you can always just shift+tab and google.

There are more puzzles throughout the game after that including some that do make you think a little. But I agree that they are not the focus they feel more like they are there because RE not to test your IQ.

I thought the few puzzles I've encountered so far were good recreations that changed it up a bit adding more complexity but not too much. Hardest puzzle in the OG was that 3x3 tile game as Ashley that may result in death and have to redo it.

So, if I like re1, re2, re2r, re7, re8 and I don't like chinesaw demo, and I hate bosses, there is no hope for me?

if you like RE2R idk why you wouldn't like this game, the only big difference is that the action is a littleee more heavy here. The chainsaw demo is the beginning section of the game, idk what parts you didn't like but there's only like two (maybe three? I don't know for sure) sections that make you "survive" and wait a period of time. you can always buy the game, play for the 2 hours that Steam lets you and refund if you don't like it, Valve allows you to refund if you simply didn't enjoy a game as it's a valid reason/option they list.

You know, if you die in the vilage section in chinesaw demo, you have to replay all the village section again from the begining - three or four retries and I'm done. So, are there later in the game such irritating moments?

Not sure what you mean, if you die in the village fight in the full game then you just start off at the village where the "cutscene" plays of the dude burning alive, anyways once you get used to the controls/game in general the village section should be a piece of cake and shouldn't trouble you at all. Just remember you don't have to kill all the villagers, you just have to run around until the bell rings.

RE4 was a turning point for the series in that it's more of an action game/shooter than a puzzle-heavy game. I'm not very far into the remake, but I don't think it'll deviate from that very much. I'm also not a fan of the earlier games because of the puzzles, but love RE4 onward.

Has anyone managed to save the guy getting burned at the stake? I imagine if you manage to snipe the guy with the torch the cop just dies anyway and they didn't make a scene where you rescue him with his own dialogue about it.

That's exactly what I heard. I am rather exploration guy, don't like running in circles waiting for bell ring. Thanks guys!
