I see some people complaining about the censorship in this title when comparing it to the original. The usual comments they get are derogatory in nature which I do not understand why. Do people nowadays want games to be censored? In my case I care less (but still care) about what was censored, and more about why it was censored. Having people dictate what I can and can't handle for whatever reason be it political or otherwise irks me. What about you guys, especially the ppl who want more censorship, I am very interested in your opinion.

You have zero evidence to say otherwise, but hey... even if we say it's because they didn't want to upset feminist bloggers, so what? That's their choice to make. I'm sure they made many choices designed not to upset males as well.

You are definitely not qualified to speak on this topic. I ask you to retire and do not issue an opinion on this again, thinking and reasoning is not one of your strengths. Hopefully one day you'll rot in a country like North Korea so maybe, just maybe, you understand what censorship really means. They boycotted a video game because the author of her book series made "transphobic" comments, but nevertheless she is unable to understand how culture affects the sales of a company. In my country many games get adjusted when they are too violent. For example resi 3 back in the day had grey blood and the zombies would disapear when they die.

It wasn't censored though. The devs themself made this so they can sell the game in my country as well. Often times devs can decide wether or not they go full violence and gore and lose a lot of potential buyers or they tone down the violence to get a pass.

In case of Resi 4 i am not aware of any censorship. They decided to change the balistics line and they decided to alternate the look of ashley. It was a decision not censoring.

Censorship means Product a is not allowed to be sold due to violence for example.
When the devs know certain countries would censor their game and they decide to change it it is not censored. They changed the game in advance from their own will to avoid any censoring.

Censoring is obviously stupid.

Of course it's censorship. In fact that's the most obvious censorship of all. I'm not any more happy with blood getting censored than anything else, and removing the ballistics line makes Luis less likable, which is not okay no matter what you call it.

You're literally describing government censorship, the one even censorship apologists accept. They didn't "decide" to use less blood. They had no other choice if they wanted to sell it to your country.

I think the fact that english is not my native tongue makes it hard for me to make my point.
All i am saying is not every decision about less blood or less naked skin is due to censoring.

If you make a game super violent you can only sell it to mature people and marketing becomes more limited.

Did they realy tone down the blood to avoid censorship or to get a better enviroment for selling the game.

A remake is a re-imagining of the same game, but primarily built from the ground up. It isn't really censorship if the re-imaginings does not include past elements or modernises.

We don't say "they censored the tank controls" just because those got modernised. But that's how stupid some people sound we they say this game got censored. Censorship is removing those said things from the original game or removing the original game in loo of this remake coming out. A.K.A. Rockstar delisting older versions for their new ones thus forcing the changes upon people.
