It's really not worth skipping over the game for. They are small perks in the grand scheme of things.
The two base weapons fully upgraded are basically the same, they also both have the 5x crit bonus.
Ammo is more useful though, that you can't buy.
The deluxe weapons are more of a preference. I really liked both of them and prefer the deluxe shotgun over the first one you get at the start of the game as it saves inventory space. I used the sentinel until I found the red 9, so I'd say both guns lasted me a while
