Chapter 15 Softlock

I am currently on chapter 15 and up to the point where Leon is hallucinating while taking Ashley to Luis's laboratory. When I get the prompt to open the door, Luis's key to the lab doesn't appear leaving me with an empty prompt.

There is no way for me to progress at this point. There's no indication that this is my mistake or a glitch. With what little I've seen in others' playthroughs this isn't supposed to happen.

Any suggestions or fixes? Thanks.

i got the same problem like you , i don't have luis's key either , this is definitely bug , its impossible that key item would disappear , i hope Capcom will fix it very soon ...

So as of right now, I don't think there's a way to get the key on the bugged save.

I had an old save from chapter 8 which I played through to the end without this issue. On this save I didn't sell any of the key items that I couldn't use and constantly checked that I had the key between saves. Don't know if these actually prevented the issue or if I got lucky.

If you don't have an older save then you'll likely have to start fresh or wait until the patch. This seems like a pretty widespread issue so I'd imagine it'd be fixed soon.

I did it by noclipping through the door using https://www.nexusmods.com/residentevil42023/mods/112?tab=description mod. Make sure to install framework first theyre both extremely easy installs. If you use this method and get an audio glitch just reload as soon as the chapter completes.

I have the same problem but I'm on ps5 so I cannot use a mod, does that mean I'll gave to wait for a patch that'll maybe not even fix my save ? I'm about to kill myself

I literally just did that mission like 10 min ago, had no problems and had the key. So its really weird that under some conditions people dont get the key.

I sold some elements that I already used like some keys and treasures maybe that made the Luis' key disappear idk

I truly recommend mods like this just for glitches such as this. That's gotta be heartbreaking to get all the way to the end and see the game glitched out. Hopefully the error is patched soon but in the meantime I strongly suggest using the above mentioned mod as to not lose your save.
