Ada's Voice is Broken
How'd they mess it up this bad? She not only sounds old and it's the actor's first job but also sounds as if she was recorded in a completely separate setup. Very muffled and doesn't react well with the environment whatsoever. It's clearly heard best when Leon finds her for the first time. His voice echoes through the room but her's sounds like somewhere completely different. How does something as glaring as this get let through QA?

This is true. Hire people for their merits, not their skin color. Diversity happens organically, and trying to force it only leads to problems.

I agree. Typically, if a game/animation studio is making a sequel and can't get the same voice actor for a certain character, they will hire a voice actor that sounds similar to the previous voice actor - so there is some consistency in how the character sounds. But this RE 4 Remake version of Ada doesn't sound even remotely similar to RE 2 Remake version of Ada. Not in the least. Capcom really did drop the ball with the casting for Ada's voice actress for RE 4 Remake.

She sounds so damn bored, like she's disconnected from everything and everyone. and phoned it in. Good thing she's only in like 4-5 important scenes. Hoping she sounds better in JP.

Wait, why didn’t they just hire the same VA as RE2?

it's the same actress that played Ada in the last resident evil movie which was also terrible. RE2 Ada voice matched her personality and stuff better, but I agree it sounds actually phoned in like it was recorded off-site with much cheaper equipment and it sounds like she's just reading from the script and not working with the rest of the material.

The original RE4 actor actually sounded like she was enjoying the role too.

I thought you guys were surely joking but wow. Her voice seems very off as if the recording setup and post tuning of it may have created the current failed voice. Never expected to see a day a voice was so poorly out of touch with the rest of the game's voice acting it actually probably needed completely redoing and patched with an update in the game... Its tolerable but quite the jarring experience.
It may sound disappointing but CAPCOM should've rehired Jolene Anderson to play as Ada Wong again in RE4 remake. Yes, it's the same actress who played as Ada Wong in Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City movie. But still, I do have to agree that she sounds somewhat bored but not too believable characteristic. Nonetheless, I truly adore and respect both Sally Cahill and Jolene Anderson.

It's just so much worse with how you can obviously tell which character has better equipment when two are talking to each other. It's something an indie studio would do because they don't have the budget to get everyone in the same studio.

She acts just fine?
idk why yall focus on her, when pretty much every character sounds "not good" pretty sure they intentionally make them act like this. Leon sounds "bad" if Ada sounds "bad".
She sounds like a normal person. The only ones in this game that are actually very good voice acting, are the over the top ones.
