How to kill Dr Salvador (Chainsaw guy)?

I just can't seem to kill him, I shoot all 9 shotgun shells into him, a grenade to his face, 25 rounds of handgun ammo and he STILL won't friggin' die.. (Hardcore mode). Does anyone have any tips, because I just keep failing the section due to him.

In my experience you gotta actually preform knife takedowns on him (Slitting his throat, stabbing his neck, ECT)

Did you get the shotgun and grenade in the one house? There is also extra shotgun shells on the bed near the window on the same floor as those. If you feel uncomfortable shooting Mr. Salvador at point blank you can make it safer by jumping over a window and forcing him to go near window then nail him in the face (or when he is climbing a ladder which knocks him off > then shoot with pistol until he back up on ladder near you and shotgun again).

I want to be extremely clear. The shotgun you get early on requires you to be quite close to do proper dmg so if you aren't basically in his face then its not doing its proper dmg which could be a big part of your issue that people often mistaken in not only this RE but RE2/3 as well hence the advice above.

When he staggers melee/knife accordingly. Can also dmg plus stagger him and mobs with grenades, and flash bang staggers him as well.

Some basic damage sequence

1) Flashbang (not recommend, save it for exposed plaga and cabin fight), it will force chainsaw dude into blind stun that allow knife throat slit prompt

2) Pistol shots repeatedly at his face, you can shoot twice anywhere, then land third shot at the face. It will lead to the same head stagger. When head stagger happen, rush to his back and knife throat slit prompt will appear.

3) Bait his attack. Once he whiff an attack, rush up and shotgun in his face.

If chainsaw dude is accompanied by other ganado, run and find location that can funnel them without you being surrounded. Shoot at other ganado to halt them or score knockdown to buy some time. The catch is you want to create situation where you can 1v1 chainsaw dude without interruption from other source.
