Which gems to put in butterfly lamp?

im saving it until I get 3 of the most expensive ones, but it would be nice to know once people figure out the best combos or best times in the game to sell them.

I've noticed there are bonuses for certain combos. I got a bonus of like 1.5 for two gems of the same color on a two gem slot treasure. I got 1.6 iirc for three gems of different colors on a three slot treasure.

Well you can figure it out based on the value of the gems, honestly I doubt it'd worth waiting to get 3 yellow diamonds as so far I've only found one and that's through the merchant.

The difference would be 2K per gem times 1.4 I think for the triple color which would be the max you could get. So $8400 if I have that math right.

Not exactly a game changing amount.

but it's still probably worth more if you put 3 of the most expensive gem because the bonus doesn't equal out how much cheaper the other gems are.

I just sold a butterfly lamp with Ruby Sapphire and Yellow Diamond for 26k, with three rubies it was only 21k. You can also remove the gems after slotting them.

If you hold shift ( or maybe it was space ) when putting in Gems, it'll give you a list on how the multiplier works so you can pick yourself.

I was going to hold onto them, but I decided to sell them when I started getting weapons I knew I was going to keep till end game.

Try to do different gem colors. Usually most expensive is better it seems but if you get the bonus high enough it might not matter a ton as different colors matter most. For instance the very first big treasure you get, Ornate Necklace, in the starting village chainsaw area can be mixed with 4 gem colors at the first merchant for 52,800 ptas due to the Four Colors Bonus 1.6x

Is getting the three yellow diamonds from the merchant worth it? Or do we find those ourselves later? I can wait, but don't want to hold off selling stuff because I think I will find the proper gems later and then it never happens.

So far I got one from small key drawer (behind church), then El Gigante boss drop.
If you still short one, trade 3 spinels at merchant for third yellow round gem.
Trio yellow on butterfly lamp sounds pretty expensive (trio bonus x1.4, and each yellow round gem add base value of 7000)

I insert one yellow round gem into ornate necklace so I lost the chance to do trio yellow butterfly lamp.

You dont need to figure out the best combos... the game shows you all of them on a single press of a button.Just use the one with the best modifier.

You can check which combinations give you the most profit when you are slotting gems into a treasure. On controller its Square/X button I believe.
