Game cannot load Chapter 2

Met up with Luis and the Big Cheese. Chapter ended, saved, loading screen for chapter 2 was a black screen with a loading bar. No text or anything.

Reboot the game and continue. This time loading bar, background image, and some gameplay tips. I do not get the option to actually start playing. I've rebooted 5 times now trying both my manual save at the end of the mission and the autosave it made. Neither one will let me continue playing.

Any advice? It doesnt lock up or crash, it seems as though its having trouble triggering or something or it gets stuck on a certain asset call.

This really shouldnt have been the problem considering it was a fresh install within the last two hours, but believe it or not it said "1 file failed to validate". Not sure how a brand new game fails verification on launch night but i'll see what happens after I reacquire it
