oh yeah the game does reek of AMD,explains why there's FSR 1 and 2 but no DLSS
Interesting but there is no AMD sponsorship anywhere in the game and nothing agreed to either.

Sucks to be you.

I am not so sure about that, I recorded my Demo playthrough with FPSMonitor running and I fail to see any noticeable stutters that would be detrimental to the actual gameplay. Running a 4090 and the release version is running even better so again, I have no idea what causes this for you all, couldn't be the SSDs everyone uses right? I do run the WD BLACK SN850X NVMe which is rated at 7300MB/s reads but I don't expect that to make a significant difference, tho it could help. Feel free to analyze the footage for yourself, maybe I am just not seeing things.

you dont expect the devs to optimise their games between demo and release?
I expect optimization between release and remake..

I noticed that in the village my processor with OC (Ryzen 5 3600 at 4.1 ghz + 3070) started to have a high use and GPU usage dropped (from 99% to 80%) but I still faced only 2 stutter in the middle of the crowd at the beginning... nothing more than that...

I already provided another 16 gb of ram and an R5 5600x already to prevent these annoying stutthers... (I currently have 16 gb 2400 mhz, I bought 32 gb now 3200 mhz)

No, it isn't. I have a 5800X3D, a 6950XT, an NVME, and 32GB of memory. It still stutters. I highly doubt this has anything to do with hardware.

Shut down web browsers? Discord?
Running latest driver?

I know for a fact many AMD users don't update often.

5800X3D
32GB DDR4 3200
RTX 3080

Not getting stutters but getting random D3D crashes.

R5 3600
RTX 3080
16GB RAM

Demo ran almost flawlessly with only slight traversal stutter. Full game is just full of stuttering for some reason. It even stutters during the main menu and cutscenes or when just standing still. Doesn't matter if I set the settings to the lowest possible or crank it all to max. Haven't changed anything on my PC either. Dunno what's causing it.

Do you have any opened internet browsers or riot vanguard in the background?

This also happens in the console versions. So nothing much we can do about it. As long as it doesn't happen in combat i'm fine with it.

AKA a "Dead Space Remake" situation.

Other than that, they seem to have mastered and refined that engine, I'm pretty confident.

Very few stutters here, all under a split second during a loading zone. Then again I also have very few stutters in Dead Space, although a bit more than here in RE4.

So I'm not crazy and it isn't my PC, that makes me feel better, but does make me wonder why PC ports are getting worse and worse.

Come on, you have one of the greatest game released in the last years with excellent performance and optimization, yet you complain about split second stutters that have nothing to do with it being a port or not...
Those "stutters" (rather assets loading, not much that can be done about that...) have been in games since there are loading zones, nothing new here...

I don't know what trash you play, but traversal stutter is entirely new for pc games.
Doctor Hades Mar 24, 2023 @ 5:50am
I noticed the traversal stutter, where the game loads new assets into VRAM from system memory, at specific points in the demo and final game on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series so this issue isn't just on PC. It's clearly an engine issue and one that will likely not be fixed given that it is also in the console versions.
CheeseBall Mar 24, 2023 @ 5:57am
PS5 Doesn't have the stutter It's only on PC.
I have seen no stutter so far and i play even with raytracing on. So im amazed about it actually working

Nope. Everything's closed. Just did a clean reinstall of my GPU drivers, but that didn't help anything as expected.
