Crash on startup

What the title says. Game won't even get to the black screen. Just straight to the capcom report tool. Does not give an error code or anything, just "Sorry, something went wrong".
I'm on the latest nvidia driver and the demo ran fine for me.

Interesting, I had that issue with demo, so was waiting for feedback on those with similar issue to see if release fixed it, odd you ran demo fine though.

update drivers, if nvidia, download newest drivers, use DDU and Nvcleanstall for peace of mind. If overclocking, try stock and see if thats the issue.

I did, in my case i had to disable a certain unlocker software.

Thanks for the clues guys I finally got demo to launch! Now I'll probably give the release version a shot. In my case I had to close down a program called Bins, it's a win10 app that allows you to have groups of icons to launch apps on the start toolbar. I thought of it cause I know in the past Easy Anticheat has not liked it for some reason, app has nothing to do with gaming, but maybe some cheat has same name or something. Ridiculous a single player game is so picky about other running processes.

People, tell me, what helped you?? Maybe they deleted something, killed some process, used magic? I've been fighting for the second day, all to no avail. Crashes on entering the game. I only catch a glimpse of the Capcom logo and enjoy the unexpected mistake. Send a report? Yes/no. Send me to hell, be merciful.

What does your crash log file say? It should be a txt file inside the crashreport folder inside the main directory.

In my case it was denuvo that didn't let the game start. It reacts to different things, not all of them drm related. Check if you have any dll injecting software running, for re4 or steam in general.
