(spoilers) underwhelming final boss fight?
hey folks, just finished this game. Am i the only one that thought the final boss fight is kinda meh? I did not play the original game. I played the RE2 and RE3 remakes and their bossfight were much more fleshed out. In this game you just have to shoot at the same 4 eyes for 5 times and thats it. The scenery and the surface the fight was on was so boring just two small squares with no obstacles and the minion spawn was also 0 threat. The mini bosses (like Kramer or the 2 giants were much more challenging and fun.

Final Boss is one of my fav bosses in this game

Yeah, about as much an anti-climax as he was originally.

There was a cut boss from the original game that I wish they repurposed as what Saddler transformed in to.

Yeah, just like in the original.
I’ve always found the final bosses to be the weakest points for most RE games though, RE4 is no exception.

Yeah, just as the others said it was dissapointing like in the OG. Also, I didn't like his "seriously religious fanatic" personality in this remake, I preffer the sarcastic bastard he was before.

Just like in the original. Best thing to do is not use rocket launchers to have a bit more fun with him.

Saddler is one of my favourite boss fights in the original. He's one of my least favourite boss fights in the remake.

^ This is how I feel. Even more so because the rocket is the most common defacto solution to the final boss out of convenience and because why not its the end of the game. Meanwhile, other RE games magnum spam from stockpiled magnum saved just for final boss or w/e other blah blah. Definitely a reoccurring theme/issue of the franchise.

Kinda I guess, its mainly cause there wasn't enough build up to Saddler, he had very little screentime.

Mother Miranda from RE8 was a much more interesting fight and probably the best out of all the RE games. Just the context, the music, her design, her lines everything in that fight was awesome, no bs rocket launcher to finish her off too haha.

It's almost identical to the original.

The true final boss for me was getting out of there on the jet ski, especially on professional mode- due to I died more on that than the actual final boss, either ran out of time or crashed due to rushing.

OG was more memorable regarding bosses in general. Except Del Lago, that was mostly the same.

Did you play on assisted difficulty? It's much more challenging and interesting on hardcore and professional.

In the original it's even easier, no minions and easy to cheese.

Saddler is probably not the best boss in the game but it's definitely better then the OG version, which was just kinda boring and very anti-climatic. In this the boss fight is far larger in scale with more attacks, phases, a bigger arena and minions. The music and Saddler's new dialogue also add a lot.
I did play on Hardcore, I think most of the boss fights are generally better on higher difficulties.
