No chapter select feature
The Resident Evil 4 Remake (RE4) has no chapter select feature, meaning there are plenty of missables and points of no return throughout the game.
What's up with that, is this a lot different than the other games?

I thought these games focused on you going back after finding a required item. So not exploring enuff or unable to find stuff, you just lose out but are able to continue?

Such a noob question, but feels a little off from the RE games I have played.

RE4 is more linear that what you may have played earlier.. So yeah, some side quests and treasures can be missed and left behind. As the story progresses, you will be crossing points of no return. Keep an eye or your map and make sure to keep track of what you're missing before progressing further.

You can always get what you missed in another playthrough.

Thanks, I am only a few chapters in so far.

I really do search for stuff, then at some point feel it must be in a new area or something. I'm starting to get the impression if I can't go back, how did I miss it.

Sometimes it feels like you're missing it, but you ended up coming back much later. Sometimes even two chapters later. Just don't get paranoid about it and enjoy the story.

Also, always talk to the merchant... Merchants that are at the edge of a point of no return will tell you to make sure to wrap up any lose ends before proceeding. That will be your chance to go back and see what you missed.

There are 3 major sections. When you leave each one, you can't return. I don't wanna spoil the game for you though.

Thanks again, it's a cool game and I am taking it slow my first play thru. I still look up at the sky to see clouds scrolling.

If I miss some stuff, I'm sure it can't be much.

The merchant does say something every time you're at a point of no return, for what it's worth.
