FPS issues 5900x/3070 1440p
Has anyone else had FPS issues with RE4? I absolutely love RE and never have issues with the series, until this game.

The FPS for me is choppy going anywhere from high 40s to 80ish FPS.

Chapter 5 in the rain dropped my FPS in the teens when i ADS’ed with the sniper rifle. I am afraid it’s my own hardware issue and not an optimization issue.

Can I get some reference on your experience? Thanks for helping me!

It's the game, not your hardware..i have 5900x and 3080 and i had the same drops in the rain village part when everything is maxed out with raytracing at 1440p..

I am using higher than average settings but no RT.

I opened up RE2 after I posted this and cranked it to max settinggs, 120+ FPS.

Highly considering buying these new titles on PS5, if I even buy them at all.

3080TI, AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, sharing the same kind of performance drop usually around the rainy areas, I vaguely remember it being fine last time I played and I let the same sit for a week or two and now i'm getting random frame drops.

that’s good. the game should be a piece of cake for a 24gb VRAM card and the latest CPU.

i bought the 3070 during the peak of the pandemic in 2021. it was the only thing available and i needed a card. now i feel like after 2 years it’s a paperweight with newly released games.

Running so fine you're even complaining about stutters in your review, lol.

I had a flawless experience. 5700 with 3080. My monitor only does 75hz so it was always around that. Everything up high, rt on, fancy hair on.. textures only on high 2gb though. Maybe I was lucky but I had a perfect experience.

3840x1600.

It happens when you are low on VRAM. Nvidia didn't give these cards enough. Try lowering texture settings to 2GB and maybe don't use ray tracing.

Not the kind of drops OP is talking about. Game drops 10-15 fps in the rain sections resulting in 90+ fps instead of 100+ for me.
