Almost 6 Playthroughs and not once used the Matilda

Is the Matilda good?
Not buyed it once and i almost beat the game 6 times

Not much point in using without the stock, so it's rather expensive since both the gun and stock are bought with spinel, but it's absolutely one of the higher dps weapons in the game, next to CQBR.

If you are used to how Red9 works, you are going to find yourself home with Matilda.

In new game setting, Matilda has two undeniable problem

1) Available quite late, you have to deal with chapters before getting Matilda with something else.

2) 10 spinels for the gun, 12 for the stock, full set 22 spinels is one high entry price that probably no one could afford especially if you plan to buy exclusive ticket.

The way the ammo rng drop work, you have to upgrade Matilda capacity as high as possible to not run into ammo issue way too often.

Me too, its selling point seems a waste of ammo and isn't as powerful as the other handguns. Also, my aim is pretty good so the spraying ammo method is not really useful for me.

With Cat Ears, the Matlida (with stuck) is probably the best weapon in the game. However without cat ears it burns ammo way too fast.

This is why Punisher is my favorite handgun, and on top of that it has the best stagger rate of the three first hanguns (you actually get it before ch 7, IIRC in ch 2, as ch 7 is for the Blacktail) and the laser sight makes that even higher, turning the Punisher into a stagger machine with really good accuracy.

According to data miner source code, Punisher comes with much higher wince rate multiplier (related to formula on triggering stagger) than Sentinel Nine and SG09R, both guns which have near firepower as Punisher. Guess Punisher has uses outside of just penetration and accuracy.

Btw, Matilda IMO is like a shotgun or SMG replacement, it's not supposed to be your main handgun but a secondary for close range. Right now I'm using the Punisher and Matilda for my Minimalist run.

As an OG Punisher fan, it's good to see the remake improving on the gun beyond just penetration rate.
