Carry Ashley Sequence
The sequence on the island where you're forced to walk super slow while carrying Ashley is lame. Parts like this in video games are so annoying to me. RE6 did this too with Leon and Helena. It's alright the first time around, but every time I have to replay it it's so boring and just gets in the way of what is otherwise a great game. Thoughts?

Yeah, I don't know why devs do this type of stuff in their game, it's annoying as hell. You ever played Metal Gear Solid V, that opening sequence, it was super frustrating. Should've been a cutscene instead
It's 3 minutes long, and after 10 play throughs I got used to it. It's over before you know it so it's really not too bad.

Still should allow us to skip it like a cutscene on NG+. It basically is a playable one. Didn't feel like the struggle it was supposed to depict, either. Maybe should've let us walk faster first, then get slower and weaker as the scene goes on instead of just letting us be that slow right from the beginning. Maybe they were going for some "The Last of Us"-hospital-escape feeling, but carrying Ashley didn't do much, emotionallly, there. For their relationship, it would've worked better if they had helped and encouraged each other instead of Ashley being unconsious.

The idea of giving a presentation of how someone infected with Las Plagas will experience the influence of the hive mind taking over was good, but should've been done more consistently throughout the game instead of having one big hallucination before the end and that's it. Could've been used to mess with the player and add some more horror elements. I guess we got voices whispering as part of the background audio a few times, but that's all. The hallucination itself was kind of campy and clichéd, too. Hooded figures standing around, tunnel vision ... meh.

You can speed this up by having REframework installed with the manual flashlight plugin.
For some reason if you toggle your flashlight on, you'll carry ashley like a basketball under your arm and it won't slow you down.
You can't "run" however, just walk faster. I did this to skip it.

Easily my least favorite part in the game. I usually multi-task while doing this part in each playthrough because its such a waste. I can deal with FF7R's walking bits, a Metal Gear Solid feature length movi- cutscene, or a Lord of the Xenosaga extended edition scene but this section in RE4 Remake has no taste or value. As 7K7DA said, it should have been a cutscene.

After so many runs I dont even notice it anymore. It's my finishing line after some high pressure rooms where I can relax again. It's the start of the ending where you only run to the end.

That said. It's just easy playtime padding. 2 minutes more on the clock to satisfy the higher ups without doing any real work.

duffel bag Ashley is the best "skip" in the game.

Too bad it doesn't work on pro.

They went through and patched a lot of glitches. Is this still even possible?

No it's not since it requires wall clipping.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of this kind of sequences. It may be short, but it feels longer than it is because it drags on.

They should have made it a cutscene.

Oh yeah that. I got annoyed by the sequence by the second play through and absolutely hated it by the time I attempted my S+ on pro. It's just extra time you waste if you're speed running.

I personally rather that segment be a skippable cutscene. It'll still keep the narrative while not having us to deal with slowly pushing forward for a good few minutes.

Edit: also that clussy OP portrait.

Watching the clock tick on my S+ run with this unskippable scene was more intense than the mike section (I didn't plan the run well and only had 30 minutes left).

I lost my S+ rank by 2 minutes on my first attempt without any bonus items. I can say that made me scream inside out.
