Why must they change the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Voice Actors.

Why does Crap-com insist on changing the Voice Actors for the games that are so ingrained in the players minds as having specific voices for all of the characters, like honestly, none of the original voice actors are in the remake, this pisses me off to a whole new level. if it was a NEW game then fine, yeah, let a voice actor get their shot at becoming a bigger actor. but just from the trailer they changed WAY too much. ALL of the VA's are new, the look of ALL of the main characters are much different than the original (and yes i understand that this is a remake and some things change, but Leon doesn't look like Original Leon from RE4, Ashley looks like a 45 year old soccer mom with 4 kids, Luis looks like a random ass Caucasian man, Salazar looks like Margaret thatcher has been excavated from her "forever box" and stuck strung up like a puppet while some old guy speaks for her, and i have yet to see any of the other characters aside from "the big cheese" who actually looks pretty close to the original except with maybe a fuller beard.

AND on top of that the VA for Leon sounds like an 18 year old who played the game once and is doing a crappy impersonation of Leon, Ashley sounds like aforementioned soccer mom that they found on the street, and as i said before Salazar sound like some random dad that they found outside of a bar, and from what I've heard of saddler's voice, he sounds like they guy that's voicing Salazar' estranged brother from a secret family their dad had at one point.

I know this sounds very nit-picky but honestly imagine they took your favorite TV series or movie and literally just changed the actors who played the characters but kept everything else the same...You'd be rightly pissed off at the producers of the show.

well this is me but with THIS remake. and honestly if they released an option to change to the original voice actors i would be OKAY with the game mostly, but i still hate the way they made the characters look.

You appreciate VA continuity? Well good news! This is the same VA that portrayed Leon in RE2 remake... so they ARE doing what you want since the remakes are being done to fit their new storyline.

Oh, also you complain about Mercier being your favorite... buuut they didn't keep continuity back then because the original RE2 had a different VA for Leon. In fact Mercier only protrayed Leon in RE4 the Wii game and 1 of the movies... out of Leon's dozens of appearances.

With ai voice modulators being used to make mods you may get your wish in a way. Read modders are trying to convert it with both Paul Mercier voice and Matt Mercers voice samples.

Alyson Court is the definitive Claire Redfield, but Capcom fired her from the role after Degeneration, because they wanted only non-unionized seiyuus.

I suspect Ada's new voice is a similar case.

Nah, Leon sounds great just like RE2R, Ash sounds perfect, is it the same voice because she sounds perfect! Ada is a bit bland but that fits her character shes like a nina williams no need to be all sultry! Also Ash's new design looks amazing its perfect i thought the censor would be dumb but she looks just perfect, amazing character models all around really, and that awesome Salazar battle golly gee!

It's the voice actors union's fault.

For some reason they falsely believe that voice actors deserve more money even though their work is much simpler compared to all other guys involved in making games.(And they can do their work for any game within a few days.)

But the modders can simply replace Remake voice files with OG voice files, and make some changes.

It takes a lot of work and training to polish your voice acting skills. Your voice is also an asset you must treat with care and make sure not to damage or over-work it. It's a muscle essentially.

Also, if the job was so simple, why do the non-union voice actors just consistently suck at it?
