Why is the Extreme "Mad Chainsaw" Difficulty not being included in the main game?
What gives? I love the difficulty of how hardcore this mode is. It's my favorite thing about the RE4 demo right now. Why is it not being included in the main game? I would love to play RE4 remake for the first time in this extreme difficulty but now I'm bummed out it apparently won't be in the main game.

I'm fairly certain the harder game modes will make up for it.

This twist is mostly for the demo to be more interesting than it should normally be.

Yeah obviously the main game is going to have a similar hard mode (“professional” unless the name changes)

It's pretty obnoxious tbh. Melee becomes unnecessarily difficult to use. I've seen ganados take 5 headshots to stun in that mode. I'm not a fan of difficulty being increased by removing or limiting a core mechanic.

Probably because it would be a chore to balance it since the mode is fundamentally broken. You can get away with it easily in the demo due to it being short and the content covered, but even on my first attempt through the demo I discovered it exposed a large number of flaws in the game's design and programming and also was counter intuitive to normal play as it clearly favored just running past everything.

They will probably have a basic veteran/professional mode or such at least and perhaps down the road they might add an update with an extra super difficulty like this when they have more time to properly work on it.

I do love how brutal the mode is. For that reason alone it really is a shame it isn't going to be in the full game. RE4R's version of Professional mode will no doubt incorporate some of the mechanics of mad chainsaw mode since those are mechanics from the original game's difficulty slider and pro mode. But I doubt they will have that crispy 100% las plagas spawn rate that the demo had.

They're saving that for Leon Must Die mode. :balloonicorn:

Then simply don't play that mode. It's called having options.

Because it builds and balances for demo only.

until the game releases this complaint is moot, they arent going to add any extra stuff in a week and a half.

but if the demo FEATURED a harder difficulty mode, what makes oyu think full game wont have one lmao.

If they release it post-launch for free as an update, why not?I could definitely give it a try.

I don't care about "balance". I want to play a mode that is genuinely going to give me a challenge and test my survival instincts to the very max, not hold my hand. I found the last three Resident Evil games to be a complete bore fest, in terms of difficulty. They were way too easy and linear, even on the highest "difficulty" provided by the developers. This mad chainsaw mode in RE4 demo actually feels different and promising this time around. Seems like a few developers over at Capcom care about making a real hardcore Resident Evil experience for the few true survivalist fans out there. Almost felt like "Ethan Must Die" from RE7 which was the last thing I enjoyed from a modern Resident Evil game in the recent years.
RE8 and RE3 have very difficult modes if you don't use ng+ and bonus items, why do you say they are easy?

I wonder if someone can mod the Mad Chainsaw Mode into the game. Imagine the cabin holdout, the island, or just the bosses.
