RE4 remake = Village?

I'm only a couple hours in but I beat the Village recently and it feels like I'm playing the same game except third person and with melee attacks. Did anyone else notice this?

Well... Resident Evil 4 Remake is very closely based on Resident Evil 4. So if there is a similarity it is because Village is made to appeal to OG RE4 fans.

RE4 did it first. Perhaps the success of RE8 made people realise how good a RE4 remake would be.

RE8 took a lot of inspiration from RE4(OG), especially in terms of setting, so a remake of RE4 is also going to look and play similar to RE8 in turn.

The stealth is reminiscent of The Last Of Us which is bad because I didn't like that game at all, never even finished it.

It gets dumber and more 'action' than RE6, but unlike the good games in the franchise, takes itself dead serious.

That's concerning. I prepurchased it (without playing the demo) but I still have less than 4 hours logged, maybe I should try for a refund?

Village takes a lot of inspiration from RE4, so it makes sense that they're similar. Dunno how they'd feel the same to someone though
