I'm about to start a new playthrough so when I get there I'll try and follow this and do it.

Just tried to backtrack and try it again, but the armored gigante took out the only other path there and it autosaved when I got to the chimera room so I'm gonna need to get through ch1-8 to try it again
You were using the Stingray semi auto rifle? Were you scoped in at the end when you stopped? Positioning, turns, etc? The beginning of the steps meaning the bottom of the steps leading up? What's your FPS set to?
Also as far as I can tell sniper skip only works in the construction zone due to the interactable door from the other side, no other door works.
But YES
Stingray semi-auto, bottom of the steps, any turning that might've happened was with the intent to change direction toward the gate-- just ran at the left side of the staircase, maybe one or 2 paces away from the left-most side of the staircase at about a 45 degree angle, I think RE2make muscle memory might've kicked in and I started pumping the aim button to get up the stairs faster but before I even got one pulse in the clip happened, so I'm assuming it either has something to do with the animation transition between running on flat ground, slowing down, and the stairs, or more likely the stairs and the slightly offset position when aiming down the scope--
Wish I was recording, would make this hella ez to address.
ALSO
I couldn't get any of the double door skips reliably at all, all I managed was the Regenerador room in 15 I think, the one with the thin doors and the cranks WISH I COULD SKIP CONSTRUCTION THOUGH, THAT WHOLE THINGS A RESOURCE SINK.
Speedrunners aren't using it, so apparently not. Even Distortion2 had someone tell him in his chat today that there was a skip for courtyard and he just scoffed and said "yeah right". Can I get what article you were reading that had that in it?
The wrecking ball section? You can skip it like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TgceMnpk4AM
That's the only skip I can get reliably, that and duffelbag ashley on any diff but professional since I use the autosave method. Distortion2 was trying to figure out better ways to trigger it outside of the room without using autosaves (since there aren't any on Prof) but seems to be really hit or miss still.
ANOTHER DETAIL--
Variable FPS, bioscanner scope, but there was a small dip when the crows flew off after I passed them, immediately before the stair clip, generally running 60+ though, so if there's any luck in repeatability it might in 60. I doubled back (Thx4bridge troll info btw) and have a save dedicated to trying to replicate it now, tried 30, 60, and 120, and what I'm describing definitely isn't working, so maybe a one-off unreliable fluke, maybe something to do with the crows, not certain, but for testing purposes a fresh save right at the start of ch9 is ideal, cos it happened on the first pass toward it as the crows flew off, and they don't spawn on subsequent passes through it seems. Not a speedrunner by any stretch of the imagination, but I figure if there's something worth looking into there, the internet brute-forcing potential leads is how you get there, lol
Definitely trying the construction skip btw--
I tried to replicate it probably a grand total of 4 hours myself with no luck and no new information to contribute, but I'm glad it's going somewhere. Definitely burned myself out on thinking about it, running into a wall for 4 hours, lol
Ty for making this thread btw, despite the lack of video footage, it at least taught us that this was a possibility if we ever figured out zips, and that's the first spot I tried once it started to make sense haha
