It would be cool if Leon would dodge attacks
Like, other TPS are having option to dodge attack, while in RE4 we can only parry melee attacks, but if we gonna get pinned to the corner then it gonna be hard to escape and we gonna get a lot of damage.
I know that this game is more specific than other TPP shooters, yet really, movement feels pretty uncomfortable a lot of times, which is annoying

I felt they should be some sort of dodge roll especially against the giants. I hated the fact that Leon would go so slow while being slap around by a giant because Leon couldn't move quick enough to evade their arm swings.

You could just go to nexus mods and install a dodge roll from there it does look seamless. (double tap dodge, or hotkey'd button to roll / flip?). Personally I haven't used it myself.

You do need to download a few prerequisites like REframework and maybe Fluffy as your "modmanager"

That's on purpose. Resident Evil is survival horror. Adding in a dodge roll, along with parries and a duck would remove the small amount of tension in combat. That's a key part of survival horror, surviving encounters with limited resources. RE2R understood this. Enemies are WAY harder to avoid and don't drop goodies when they die. In comparison RE4R is a walk in the park.

I think the RE3 dodge could have worked nicely. But that would mean you could get dangerously close to actually mastering the game, and that's apparently boring now.

Maybe in RE6 remake, since it's all Michael Bay there.

that dodge mechanic from re3 remake would have been nice.

We've got the parry-system instead, which is way harder to master.
You can parry crossbow bolts, dynamites, molotovs, well, anything.
Just gotta time it right.

I think there is a mod exactly like that, it came out recently.
