If you have enough to use it on salazar and then for the final boss you can just use it for both.
It might be a waste for salazar if you have a golden egg and don't have the money for another RPG.
I mean Verdugo is skippable and Salazar is eggable, it leaves Krauser and Saddler. Both are probably nightmares on pro, I'm still in the castle so not sure which one i'll RPG
For Salazar you can just cheese him with a golden egg to deal 70% of his health damage, then just use a powerful shotgun, magnum or rifle to finish him off.
I'm unsure at which points in the game the RPG is restocked. I know it doesnt happen every chapter or every new merchant. Might be restricted to purchasing 1 RPG per section of the game (so Village, Castle and Island... which would make 3 in total).
I thought you can buy as many as you want, you just can't purchase multiple at once (even if you put the RPG in storage)
I feel like once I used a rocket launcher on a boss and wasn't able to buy a new one with the next merchant, but... I'm quite honestly not very sure about it. Also on my first playthrough I avoided it like the plague since I wanted to do all bosses the regular way.
By chapter 12, just put it in storage until Saddler. i.e. the final boss or chapter 16. Ramon can get egged. Krauser is annoying but has a pretty small healthpool. Saddler's the biggest annoyance.
