This game isn't "woke" at all. People complaining about digital panties getting taken out are just mad to be mad. They got their own thing going on. Can get them all in this thread and just mass ignore them. ezpzz no scope
Don't follow Star Wars, cannot judge. Never liked it much. But from what I've read, my understanding was that the whole point of Rey's character was to undermine the Mary Sue trope. In any case, Mary Sue has little to do with wokeness but just bad writing.
Uhm ... what?^^ Also, it seems you and I have a rather different view on what "a franchise being ruined" means. Andromeda was a stinker, but it's just one game and none of its issues had anything to do with wokeness anyways. Doesn't ruin the whole of Mass Effect.
Same as Star Wars, I have no idea about it. Only played the remastered trilogy or whatever it was called and thought it was incredibly boring. (No offense, people just like different stuff.)
Horizon Zero Dawn? Really? How is that franchise ruined? I didn't like the story of the second game, but other than that, it's not much different from the first one. How is the sequel more "woke" than the first game?
I'd argue that mentally unstable people often make for interesting stories, but I'm not sure what you actually mean by mentally unstable. Like ... Batman? And, wait ... is your definition of "ruined" having female characters with a minimum of agency and competence? Or containing "woke" content? Because my version of a franchise being ruined is having had nothing but bad games coming out for a while. (If we stick to games, same about movies, books etc., of course.)
"Female version of Nathan Drake"? Are you referring to that one spin-off game you play as Chloe in? For a series they already announced as not getting continued further? How does that - by the way pretty awesome - game ruin the franchise? And you do know Nathan Drake is generally considered a male Lara-Croft-rip-off, right ...?
i feel like i'm back in 2015 when gamergate was all the rage, this is a japanese game by a japanese developer, why would there will be woke american stuff in it? they don't cater to the "progressive" crowd on twitter/reddit/etc. like western devs do. internet outrage people need to go outside and take a breather from the internet for a bit.
Games that are really "woke" is something that EA, modern Ubisoft or western Sony studios would do in current era, take a look at TLOU2 and their flat masculine woman character designs, horrible dialogues in games like Far Cry 6 or ME Andromeda. RE4R has none of that, people complaining about wokeness in a Resident Evil are either trolling or just delusional.
Wokeness in games/movies usually means (black)washing, making all (white) male characters look bad while females are great, lgbt characters for no reason other than their orientation etc...probably forgot other examples.
Havent encountered anything like that here so far.
It's silly. They really arent worth arguing with.
