Random Xbox controller disconnects
This is an issue that only happens with this game. All of a sudden it stops responding to the controller and the only way to make it work is to exit and relaunch the game. I tried finding a solution with no success, anyone else having that?

Yeah I'm playing wireless, always have to take the batteries off and wait it to reconnect.

Same here. Although mine reconnects after a few seconds. Are you using the Xbox series controller with the usb stick? I think it happened with resident evil 2 remake too. Or one of the other re engine games. Never found a fix. So annoying!

I keep having this problem. My Xbox controller keeps disconnecting randomly. It's worse now than ever. I can unplug it and plug it back in but it happens again. Oh well

I found a workaround: whenever your controller stops responding, alt+tab out of the game and then into the game again, and hit anything on the controller.
It makes no sense but it works.

And just pretend it Bedee that fixed the issue, to not lose the immersion. ;-)

See if disabling steam input from settings can help. In library. right click game Properties -> Controller. And choose disable steam input from the dropdown menu.

Steam Input can be wonky with some games and you are better of using raw xinput.
Play with a controller that isn't ♥♥♥♥ (aka made by microsoft)?

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ aside, I'd try with a wired controller first, to eliminate a point of failure (I.E. is it the controller the game doesn't like? The wireless connection?)

Best way to troubleshoot these things to to eliminate as many variables as possible, then slowly add them back in.
