No loot in castle?
Just got into the castle and im about an hour in but there is absolutely no loot compared to the village, got the treasure map for both zones and there's not nearly the same amount as the village, low on ammo and healing constantly even tho i explore every corner of the zone im in, is this normal

It's still tough. But there's treasure. Not all of it comes from stuff on the map. Lots of it is also locked behind keys especially that cube puzzle key.

The game only gives you ammo when it sees fit, unless you decide to exploit the ammo economy a little bit.
But you should never be at 0, once you reach a threshold, the game will give ammo.

It's gonna feel that way especially if you just got in to the start of castle. Doesn't help the vases are blending into the background decoration so you can easily miss them sometime. That said the treasures thats there have higher value than the ones in the village so it does even out a bit.

Did you realize you can break pottery?

I know, kinda hard to notice for some people, when the game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cooms yellow paint and tape over every other interactible item, as if the player was retarded, but then they keep the vaase model from RE8, which fits the environment quite well

The castle not only has less loot than the village, but most of the valuable treasure doesn't come until the latter half or so of the castle part. So it's not you, they just did a lousy job distributing treasure through the castle.

It's a jerk move too because the lack of treasure and money will prevent you from upgrading your weapons.

Ammo and healing is not something to worry about too much though. If you're low on ammo or healing items, the game is more generous with giving it. It's not that you can't run out of ammo, but as long as you have pretty decent aim and don't waste too much ammo, you should never run out completely. I've had times when I had nothing more than just a handful of pistol bullets and less than 5 minutes later I was properly stocked on handgun, shotgun and rifle ammo again. I've also had times when I had plenty of ammo and the game just doesn't give me much until I almost run out again.

I think the problem is you didn't spend ingredient on crafting ammo/grenade the moment you have enough for one.
If you can keep using gunpowder and resource, the game rng will detect and decide to give you those very often. If you run out of resource to craft, get black briefcase from merchant. I suggest always craft shotgun shells/magnum ammo first, then pick rifle ammo/flashbang if you don't have resource S.
I'm literally sitting with 50+ shotgun shells and 9 flashbang before water hall.

The money problem is based on your choice 90%, with 10% as a result of rng pesetas. I only upgrade knife durability to 1.5, rarely use the knife (parry, escape from grab, etc), so I pay very less often on repairing the knife. As a result, I was able to all max + exclusive for SG09R just at chapter 4, then all max W870 waiting for exclusive 2x firepower at chapter 7. This is on Pro difficulty.

You probably don't think you have a lot of ammo/herbs/gunpowder but you do. Unless you're down to a few bullets, a couple herbs, or a few gunpowders, you're going to mostly find money. The game doesn't really let you stock up as much as I remember from previous games.

The treasures are further in the castle like someone else says too.

Your loot in the village comes from the yellow crates, if your brain is wired to "yellow paint = smash" you might be missing a lot of loot from the castle because now it's in the decorative vases

That and you might also want to check what your suitcase setup is. If you have the one equipped that raises pesetas drop rate, for instance, you could have trouble finding enough ammunition.

I did this section earlier and no joke, I ran out of ammo entirely just as Ashley did the second wheel in the water area. There were two more enemies on her that came out of nowhere as she finished but thankfully she jumped down just before getting grabbed.

There's quite a few punishing sections which bleed bullets after that too so use the environment and bullets wisely. I was certainly very careless early on when you have plenty at your disposal but I forgot how it can soon disappear.

I've managed to reach the maze stocked up a little bit more thankfully. In the OG RE4, if you increased capacity it would fill your clip up i.e empty TMP, upgrade to 100 cap and then get 100 free bullets essentially. It's not the same here.

Hoarding money doesn't change the fact that you barely get any money from treasures in the first half of the Castle. There's no choice, it's just bad game design. And not everyone wants to use the starter weapons. They are the cheapest ones to upgrade. If you replace the weapons with a later handgun/shot/rifle you'll be selling the old ones... and some of the money you spent on them will be lost. Not only that, but the new ones are significantly more expensive to upgrade.

And then not much after you can get those weapons or roughly around the same time, the game starts giving you a lot less money from treasures.

Also your argument is complete trash. It's about pro mode, which already requires players to have beaten the game at least once before. Meaning you can plan ahead with your funds. That doesn't go for a first playthrough where you have no idea what's ahead, no idea when new useful weapons are available and you'll bend spending every bit of money you have to squeeze another upgrade out of it for a tough section.
