this is the first time EVER in a RE game universe, where I actually used dubs...never ever had any need to do so, but I just couldn't handle her voice acting...I died inside a bit listening her dialogue...the cringe is too hard and I'm too weak

I always interpreted her as Chinese, but if you are correct, they maybe the monotonous "Standard American Accent" is appropriate. But I have to say, subjectively, a Beijing Actress with Mandarin as first language IMHO would produce a more exciting performance. IE: Li Bingbing. But that's just my subjective belief.

No it just sucks, compared to the quality of the other voice actors. Just sounds like she didn't really care. Some instances it sounds like she recorded in a basement or something lol. When so many are complaining without even knowing who the actress is...there is something there.

Aight, now compare the REmake 2 Ada VA to the REmake 4 Ada VA.

Not everyone that has a problem with the newest Ada VA has rose tinted glasses for the original game. A lot of them are just new fans that joined during the RE Engine era. So their only Ada for comparison would be the Ada that shows up in REmake 2. Not the James Bond femme fatale in the OG RE4. Maybe, just maybe, the 6th Ada VA just wasn't that great and stands out as bad next to the rest of the REmake 4 voice cast (that are either good or serviceable).

Frankly I was more bothered by Wesker's voice because it was unique. But this is nothing significant.
The same applies to Ada's voice. Especially since the original RE4 game's Ada sounded too sexual. But we gotta jump on the hate bandwagon, don't we?

Why does every single nobody on this forum feel the need to make a thread about the same exact topic voicing the same opinion thinking that their opinion is somehow important for everyone to hear?

These made sense when the issue was still new. Now you could just as well post the same opinion in one of the hundred similar threads if you really have the need to write it somewhere.

Her direct comparison isn't the original, but RE2 Remake where she sounded phenomenal. She was the best VA in the entire game, followed by Claire's.

All of her appearances are supposed to steal the show. She's practically more critical to every plot point and character than everyone else in the game.

Leon, Saddler, Wesker, and the virus. She's the link to all of them and she's supposed to behave as a seductive femme fatale double agent so she can string along and double cross Leon when appropriate. But she also seems to like him too. OG actress' performance made all that believable.

Her delivery matters a lot and has already been done much better. Hence the backlash.

Also, when Separate Ways drops, she's also going to have a lot of lines there.

OP is 100% correct the new ada voice actor is terrible
and that is what happens when you hire people outside of the voice actor union.

I was hoping Leon would also be replaced from the Woke Arrow-Verse Resident Evil Movie. We need more POS actors representing Resident Evil Characters. Rebecca is a red head so we know she is a prime target for a Netflix adaptation!

To be fair, most of the voice acting in RE4R is mediocre to bad. I personally thought Salazar's and Krauser's were worse than Ada's.

Why did they not just use the same voice actor for Ada in the RE2 2019 remake, Jolene Andersen? Her Ada sounds excellent and delivered the lines with a sense that's very familiar to Ada in the original RE2 and RE4. They shouldn't have changed what was working well, and should have kept her voice consistent in the remakes.

Every VA Capcom has been using for all the RE Engine RE games, have been none union actors.
