the only thing this game is really missing is Co-op
I know it wasnt in the original but my first resident evil was resident evil 5 and now playing this for the first time I can see a lot of stuff they ported into Rez 5 but it gets kind of lonely playing alone.

It would probably end up like RE:Verse. Laggy and bugged to hell with terrible match making lobby systems.

A co-op horde mode with waves and upgrades would be fun.
It would be like COD World at War Zombies.

He's asking for co-op, not pvp. Why would you need matchmaking for co-op? lmfao

Most of the time you're playing with a friend, not a random stranger, not sure why you'd wanna do that.

Why not? Always see people saying no to co-op for no valid reason, just because you don't have friends doesn't mean people should suffer.

Mercenaries co-op sure, but the main game, I rather not.

I mean they obviously have the system to do it. Resident Evil 5 coop was great. Some tweaks here and there and they could port it to other games. It just requires maybe some level redesigns.

AGAIN, why not have a story co-op? sure it'd be a bit immersion breaking but obviously you're usually supposed to play a game co-op after you've already beaten it so I don't see the problem, if anything just make it so that you have to beat the game first to unlock it.

not to mention nobody is forced into co=op. in rez 5 you could play solo if you wanted to.

RE5. Singleplayer is just you being forced to play with a com who is filling in for another human player. RE6, where the same thing happened but they made the com slightly less needy. RE revelations 2 as well. Some segments are more multi-tasking based where player 1 gameplay can take much longer and is harder if they have to do the job of two players. All these games with 2 player co-op have the design bleeding through and effecting singleplayer gameplay.

Also, I think it detracts from the survival horror elements with all those games I've listed. Harder to be scared with a second person (com or not) that is shooting enemies with me. Luis's segment in RE4R for example, incapable of being scary just with his presence there.

I do agree with the horror element. Probably why they took it out for 7 onwards.

The AI could just be taken out, like in Halo.

I mean, you could just have the second character taken out when you aren't playing 2P. Dead Space 3 did that. Didn't really effect gameplay that much (aside from those co-op only stages that game had). Other games do it too like Halo.

Makes the story kind of wonky when you do that, but it can sorta work. Either narratively ignore P2 all together. Or inversely ignore their lack of presence, like Dead Island where every character is in the cutscenes even in solo gameplay.
