It was paid extra content for the original version. You had to buy a PS2 and a new copy of the game

I hope the Separate Ways DLC won't be as gimmicky as the Shadows of Rose DLC, I just want classic RE gameplay loop of exploration, unlocking areas of progress with enemies in the way and then throw a bossfight or two in there, no need for extensive mechanical changes or trying to do something else than a RE game.
Reusing assets is like mostly fine IMO, but how you do it will be key (like, we know Ada will visit a lot of areas Leon has been or "will be" in, so not to reuse those would be bizarre to say the least).

I don't like in RE games sections like the Beneviento doll house baby chase in RE8, or the orphanage stealth section in RE2, or the Ashley section in RE4, they are weak in terms of gameplay and replayability, they are gimmick sections that might help to add a tiny bit of variety in the middle of the game so that the classic gameplay loop doesn't get too stale, but on their own they just don't hold a candle to the real reason I play RE games, and man that Shadows of Rose DLC seemed to be 80% gimmick with 20% classic gameplay (I'm exaggerating, but still, it was skewed heavily into trying to do something else but also just in a half-baked fashion).

completely agree. never liked those sections like ashley's chapter...they ruin replayability...even in the original i hated that part....they really don't add anything to the gameplay

Someone already leaked a mod where you can play as Ada with her full animations from mercs a week ago on nexus. I played with this mod on one of my professional runs and it was a lot of fun.

I rather not, I played it once or twice back in the day on PS2. Plus Ada's voice actor is horrible. Her voice acting is flat AF and cringe. It is like listening to an old woman who is disconnected from what she is actually acting the part for.

Lily Gao sucks as an actress in general and the voice acting was just so bad I cant even care to watch the cut scenes with Ada they are an instant skip for me. I used to love Ada, but now I rather just skip and forget.

I hope they didn't pay her much for this.... Seems like a total waste of money. If I was the director I would have fired her and looked for a new actress. As a director this is just embarrassing to have this on my record....

All the other Voice actors nailed their role down perfectly specially luis. André Peña did a awesome job and out shined the rest I think.

Please, please no more Lily Gao's Ada.

Hopefully Ada Wong will be RECAST, and this really should happen if the DLC is paid.

They are probably going to be included in seperate ways and seperate ways is going to be paid, perhaps it will even have separate mercenaries menu.

Assignment Ada came with the Original release and is also not part of the Remake... so stop making excuses. Capcom got themselves into a corner when they said, they wouldn't cut content only expand on what was already there. So releasing content that was part of the Original needs to be part of the "base" purchase. Considering Mercenaries is also lacking some of its content, they really need to show up with something good the next time they make an announcement.

Assignment Ada was indeed included in the GC releace.

You can bet your bottom dollar that they will be. Why else do you think they cut them out. Capcom can make tons of money out of you people just by making the same games and content over and over again.

They were "cut" from the release because they were working on separate ways and the main game at the same time.
