Ashley's ai is worse than original
Am i alone in thinking this? Ashley in the original re4 was always on your ass or stayed put. In the remake? she is CONSTANTLY right behind enemies no matter what distance she's set as. When my weapons penetrate through enemies, it's a lil ♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying. Kneecapping with the punisher has led to more game overs than the difficulty spike in hardcore.

Is there a wait command that I just missed, or is it really only 'stay close' or 'put some distance'?

lmao i sure as ♥♥♥♥ did. Whenever I went down she took the longest route possible to revive me.

I remember there was a puzzle with a bunch of optional caves to get money/treasure, and my ass got jumped in one. I need a revive, and i'm calling out for sheva like "HELPME" and she always responded "I'M ON MAH WAI"

get to the entrance of the cave and she's on a slightly lifted cliff right next to it.
"SHEVA HELP ME"
"I CAHNT RAIGHT NOW"
and i ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ died.

My experience has been the opposite, she is MUCH improved.

I agree. OG Ashley was very good at sticking close to you and not getting in the way and you could order her to stay in place. Remake Ashley can't be told to stay (except for rare hiding spots, which was kept from OG), instead you're forced to have her follow you in 2 different formations and it wasn't rare for her to be in front of me when I needed to back away from threats. I even Handcannoned her once by accident.

I actually think the complete opposite.

Just learn how to use her formations and move accordingly?

Not really, I killed her often because she ran in front of me.

Enemy is 5m in front of me.
Ashley is on my left just 3m next to me.
If I call her back, she ran from left to right and goes behind me.

Maybe it´s her pathfinding but she can´t cross me on my left side, she always switch to the right before she´s behind me.

I never understood the complaints about Sheva either. Equip her appropriately, make proper use of the commands and she's fine. I expect most players leave her alone, and then rage when the under-equipped AI can't take down a hundred enemies to save them.

Ashley is fine too.

That has never happened to me, I've only ever shot her once on my first playthrough, but that was on me, I missed the ganado behind her, which I guess was a good thing since it was easier to hit while she sat there incapacitated.
