Cut enemies with replacements:
1) Soldier with hammer in the island/Mad max rejects: Replaced with brute that wields a hammer - wears a bull mask. Now appears way earlier, in the Village!
2) JJ (chainsaw wielding soldier in the island): Replaced with a brute that shoots bolts rapidly with a high-tech crossbow - wears a boar mask.
New content?!
- Arguably a new enemy: Same as the brute with bull mask above, but unarmed.
- Female cultists. Nothing special here, they don't carry any new weapon not seen before.
- Novistadors can now camouflage.
New content:
- Ganados in the village now have a quasi-transformation post "death". Kind of like the crimson heads from RE1 remake that are more resilient than normal ganados.
- Del Lago's area is now expanded to explore connecting areas with a boat
- Village has 2-3 small underground caves
- 2 new guns taken from other RE games made in the RE engine
- 19 side quests vs. 1 from the OG (Blue Medallions). They are of varying levels of quality, and are pretty much the same as RE8: Village if you've played it.
- 3 new puzzles not in the OG
- Spinels are now rewards for doing side quests. Spinels are super rare drops in the world also.
- Exclusive upgrades can be done the classic way, or with a set number of spinels bypassing the upgrade of every single attribute to the max to get to the exclusive perk directly.
- Slow and forced walking section for a min or so as Leon carries Ashley to plagas removal machine.
- Turrets in the island appears in 3 different instances - all interactable. Two to be avoided and one that is operational.
- Armored Gigante throws rocks at you as you run around to open doors in a long set piece killing cultists along the way in the Castle. You get rid of the Gigante with a cannon.
Revised content:
- Ashley section as a whole. Also slightly expanded and Leon can revisit the areas she visits.
- Ganados cannot be melee'd with a single bullet to the head/knee. Need more precise shots or perfect parries.
- Enemies that carry Ashley move faster and take more than a shot to drop her
- Different intro for the colmillos (dogs)
- Few puzzles tweaked
- Shooting range has been overhauled.
- Treasure system tweaked
- Regenerator intro and new location for the bio-sensore/thermal scope (very well done)
- Iron maidens are faster and a tad creepier
- Invisible Novistadors now appear before Verdugo battle in a scary setting
- First Krauser battle is an actual knife fight
- Expanded Krauser battle, but no time limit. Still weak to knives this one.
- Altar in a cave where Ada wakes up in Separate ways is now a forest altar. More of a
show piece with couple fresh corpses sacrificed by the cultists.
- Underground cave sections trimmed significantly
- Mine cart section now an entertaining set piece. Not an intense combat section.
- Slightly improved Hedge maze
- Wrecking ball section in the island is now different. Waves of enemies still appear.
- Luis is with Leon vs. Two Gigantes. Battle nerfed quite a bit.
- Slightly reworked Bella sisters/Chainsaw women section
- Garradors have undergone a slight nerf. They are useless for a few seconds when one shoots the exposed plagas.
- Plagas type-3 (ones that run around as spiders when the hosts are killed) are improved to puppeteer the hosts.
- More enemies with the type-2 and type-3 plagas now appear in the Island
- Mike section in the island now has an anti-air turret to shoot the chopper down
- Salazar now moves a lot during his boss bottle and has new moves
- Saddler now has Novistadors during his battle. Also has a tiny second phase, where you shoot the core with low effort until it's time for the Rocket launcher from Ada.
- No free Broken Butterfly. Free Red9 can be collected in its place. There are 2 other weapons you can find in the world for free.
- Nerfed water room/water hall. Still intense, but a little more ordinary.
- Leader Zealot (red robed) now functions differently, making plagas in the cultists appear instantly after his chanting. There are two reworked sections with him on it.
- Armaduras (armor with plagas in them) are reworked with a little more strat required than shooting at their helmets
- Clockwork section reworked with the lift that takes you to the Salazar battle
- Not all guns can be fit with a laser sight. Only the normal Handgun and the Punisher are compatible with it.
- Exclusive perks of the guns are much more "normal" in many cases, with some perks unchanged from the original. Punisher and the Riot Gun are slightly buffed. You don't get 100 ammo from Striker, Broken Butterfly doesn't do 50 damage, Shotgun does not have the same range at all distances etc.
- Many other sections trimmed/reworked in the island
Cut with replacement:
- Branching path with El Gigante following you that can end up in a true battle. This has now become a Big Cheese chase, a throwaway set piece, where you run in a straight line for a few seconds and turn left. This Gigante likely ended up as the rock-throwing armored Gigante in the castle setpiece.
- Novistador infested mysteriously creepy underground mines/cave. Now replaced with a little more generic cave with a hive in the middle.
- Reworked block puzzle from OG's Ashley section is now in the Village that rewards a treasure on solving.
- Fire breathing dragon section cut with the Salazar statue breathing fire as a reference. That's all the Salazar statue does btw.
- Saddler's throne room is replaced with Salazar's. Leon can still pose here like a boss that he is.
- Incendiary grenade has a lame replacement - a slightly more damaging normal grenade with larger blast radius.
- Mine thrower is replaced by a bolt thrower with exploding mine attachment. A lot like the crossbow from the The Evil Within.
- Salazar doesn't do radio calls anymore to talk sh*t. He broadcasts his messages to Leon over speakers in the castle.
Cut with no replacement (Castle got the shaft surprisingly, followed by the Island):
- Gondola lift/cable car sniping section in the Village
- Leon stuck with a Garrador and a cultist in a cage, surrounded by Ganados
- Shootable spiked ceiling "puzzle" pieces, both of them
- Two cultists riding a drilling machine-like vehicle to kill Ashley that Leon snipes in the castle
- Pushing statue puzzle in the Castle that takes you to Salazar that runs away
- Section before Clock tower with zealot encounters
- Intense battle with zealots in the bridge before double garrador
- Sniping section to free Ashley and shoot cultists before the "play as Ashley" section
- Ashley operating the truck. The entire sequence is gone.
- Entire section of fighting cultists with the Salazar statue in the middle
- Salazar statue chasing Leon
- Free rocket launcher in the castle
- Destructible hive in Salazar's castle that drops so many eyes that can be fit into treasure.
- Some precious gems. There are a set number of gems in its place to infuse into treasures.
- Room with two rocket launcher cultists behind a painting with several shield and bolt gun zealots
- Room with a ton of zealots along with leader zealot running around to operate a gattling gun
- Many hallways and rooms in the castle chapters, including the room that hands out Broken butterfly as free treasure.
- Several rooms in the island just removed or trimmed excessively, including the one where Leon tries the radio at a tower for help
- Couple puzzles in the castle and one in the island
- Sick laser dodging shenanigans
- Gatcha/claw section in the island to drop ganados into the waste disposal
- Assignment Ada, which is ok, but no Separate Ways? Capcom just wants more sweet DLC moolah.
- Entire underground area that features "It"/U3. Speaking of which....
Cut enemies with no replacement:
U3/"It"
Love this boss. Watch the haters come back to claim how it was always a great boss once it appears in the inevitable Separate Ways DLC, even if it plays the exact same as the OG.
At least the one cycle is easy.
