i usually never turn on aim assist but really considering it here.
No matter how you much you practice, mouse aiming will always be more precise.
RE4 was designed with controllers in mind, so you can change your mindset to understand that you're getting an advantage with a mouse, not a disadvantage with a controller. The rest is practice and tailoring sensitivity to your liking.
Two pieces of advice I can give as a PC gamer who slowly but gradually got used to controller aiming:
- Increase default turn sensitivity and decrease aim sensitivity. This way you'll be able to turn quicker, but aim more precisely.
- Adjust your aim with the left stick, not just with the right one. Often strafing a little bit to the right or to the left is much easier than moving your weapon. Eventually you'll get used to both.
Other than that, it's just a matter of being used to one type of contols. Either is fine.
The only exceptions being Battlefield and other precision shooters
While agreeing Battlefield needing a godlike amount of precision sometimes i found this particular game being a lot better with kb+m (im also 30+) since it also requires you to be fast and aim well. Otherwise im all for controllers, especially for 3PS.
